My Darling Signed In
5.5, I really enjoy this one. The art is unique though I can understand why some say the art could improve, it feels like it’s on its initial track of Ks Secret era (iykyk) but I don’t have any art expertise so to me looks great! What a loaded story. I’ve reread this like .. a handful of times and it’s a rollercoaster every time. Their conflicts are interesting and progressive without dipping into grapes. Some SA though and harassment but for this genre and this particular story I can overlook it. The characters have fabulous depth, for the most part, though it feels like the main game developer lacks some. It’s like his personality was constantly flipping between antagonists and aloof protagonist. By the end we coin that he’s a very strategic character but I don’t think his parts overall reflected it as well as I wish I could have. On the other hand, the main characters are adorable and well suited for eachother. I have mixed feelings on the time gap plot as I have doubts to how their relationship was successful despite being apart for over 2 years but it became the reason that Jae grew confidence and poise so again another point I can just willfully believe is just a one in a milli chance that they were the perfect relationship even apart. Wish there were more to the side couples honestly, the manager and main game developer would’ve been fantastic to dive into. I appreciate their lil tidbit at the end tho, if that’s all we get then I’m thankful. Def could reread again after I forget about it a bit.
Kouguu no Omega
5.0, the age gap I’ll address first- yeah I’ll admit that’s uncomfortable. Why a child? Why a 10 yr old? I suppose it’s to give a larger year gap to allow for the unwinding of the nation under the tyrant king but i had uneasy feeling the entirety of their bond forming for the first 6 chapters. Besides this, a wonderful story actually. No SA, no grapes, no BS. An omega character lifted from a miserable situation to be surrounded by people who hold adoration to him and empower him to act on his independence? Who could ask for more out of a brief manhwa like this. And they truly didn’t engage in intimacy until legally permitted (even postponed coitus until things settled after the Coup De Tat) so big ups for that. There’s honestly no critiques I’d have, I could reread this a few times surprisingly. (Also someone said there was no pheromones, kids, pregnancy— 1) there was pheromones twice. if you need me to point it out lmk. 2) I don’t think kids and pregnancy is required in an omegaverse. They have a nation to rebuild, their new nation are their children. now if you had said ‘aww I just wish there was more because it’s so good and I’d love to see their what their babies look like’ like others, then I get it but don’t put this manga down b/c it’s a green flag in a sea of bloody red waves which is genre normally is).
Koi ga Ochitara
1000, I’ve reread this repeatedly and every time im kicking my feet up in the air, real giddy type shit. I just love the plot so much, it’s perfect in every way. In fact, one of the few mangas that made me a lil envious- I want hishimoto T^T PLZ!! I love this couple they’re adorable, they communicate, they work things out, Hishimoto is fully into servicing his partner and keeping him happy, and they just heal eachother in the healthiest cutest way ever. I love it. BEST EVER
Koi ga Michitara
10000000000, HOLY CRAP HES HOT. GAHTDAMN. This is the prequel to Koi ga Ochitara, which was already a green flag, but golly this one had way more hishimoto fan service I swear. I love an older man in a suit not to mention he’s a service top- PLS
Nindan - Danshikou de Ninshin Shita Ore
1, I try to be more constructive in my criticism for mangas to I’ll try my best to do so while putting aside my person contempt. What plot is there? Any manga that uses sexual assault or rape as a story’s climax has little depth. Because what, besides trauma, could give a plot of that type any depth at all. It feels as though they were trying to tap into a plot that focuses on the discrimination of minorities such as Mpreg individuals but it constantly missed the mark by simply appropriating that stigma that they’re weak, helpless, can’t be strong or defend themselves. On top of this, I resent a story built on a naive main character. He’s already a minority in the sense of his gender (Mpreg), but now he’s naive and getting fooled into ‘falling in love’ with someone who’s pushing his feelings onto him. Stockholm. For 90 chapters, I thought at least it would progress past high school, they reach college, find independence, take a few days to a few weeks to explore if he really likes his partner or if he was just projecting a reflection of the feelings/affection he received. But no. None of this development. Sure he punches a dude at the end but really, at 80 chapters? Just disappointing. This only gets one star (versus zero) because the art is very beautiful. It’s a familiar style and there’s been other stories in this style that is better thus I think the art has a good rep.
Ou-sama to Puppy Love
4.0 or 4.8, less than 5 because their first time was NOT consensual, he was in a intoxicated state (heat). Despite the cute story and art style, non-consensual sex is a turn off always. It’s endearing that the king began to take sou’s feelings into consideration (which should’ve been the main concern in the first place, regardless if he misinterpreted any invitations to continue), warming him up to affection so that they could finally consensually be one. And it’s cute how the mother cheers for them as well as sou’s friends. Not sure this would be on my top list of rereading but it’s not the worst.
Obaka na Omega wo Haramasetai
1, because of the art being captivating. The focus of most of the comments is the art style being so vivid especially in sex scenes since it seems to be the only thing this sorry has going for it. A plot centered around a uke with a pretty face that’s a naive gullible helpless idiot is lame. A plot not worthy of recognition. On top of that, there’s literal gang r@pe. It’s not a story, it’s a porn show essentially which is why the feelings are detached, there’s no moments in which there’s a romanctic scene that makes your heart thump because they’re undermined by the fact that it’s manipulation-induced. The only reason im even reviewing it than deleting it is to ensure I don’t read it again.
Kowairo ni Somaru
5, these stories are actually really cute. No red flags, no SA or r*pe, and they really take care of eachother which is bare minimum but rare. I reread this semi-frequently.
Naruse Akira to Ikkai Ya Retara Ore wa Mou Shinde mo Ii
3.5, I’ll be honest. I will NOT lie. The smut scenes are very well drawn, the style is a sparkly work of art, and I think the main couple can be cute at times. But I feel pure irritation when Akira continued to mislead, bully, and technically grape Hotaru. Hotaru felt pain when Akira felt jealousy and took it out on him, not cool. I don’t care of Hotaru is okay with it, it doesn’t make it okay, and that makes me sad because I know that Akira has a real love for him and genuinely wants to make him happy. I just wish the plots of these BLs could assent past the weak, helpless, basically rug of a person trope that allows these Ukes to get so easily pushed around. There’s flaws in both characters that I feel like could be developed better and more drawn out. Hotaru matures to stand for himself, Akira lives with guilt for his actions and makes up for it somehow with them both learning to communicate and express better. The typical issues that would upgrade a manga but never is present. But the uploader is a gem <3 best meme annotations ever.
