FINISHED UP TO TL notice + 2023 extras + 2024 dragon extra -- so cute, but really I don't see why that TL notice was necessary. As the translator, it's not your job to tell the readers what you think the author will do with certain characters or plot and give the readers a false sense of expectation. Like. It... really isn't your business. What IS okay is you informing the readers that the author IS a BL author (especially for those who may not know). In fact, it's even fine to address people who might be disturbed by the content matter (whether it be the BL subtext/undertones or the pseudo-incest father x son ship between Papa Wolf and Potato) and even let them know that you feel the same, etc. etc. But what's NOT a good idea is to say things like "I don't think x character and x character will do such and such in the future. So don't worry!" Like... that's pretty fuckin irresponsible, tbh, bc the author will do whatever the author will do. PERIOD. You shouldn't make promises or give assurances like that to readers when all you're doing is TRANSLATING SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK. It's very unprofessional. But hey, I'm just a translator (by profession) myself running my mouth, I guess.
