I'm really enjoying this manhua. It has its flaws. The one that affects the story the most is surprisingly the backgrounds. At times the simplistic backgrounds take you out of the actions and make the emotion of the scene fall flat. The positioning of characters could also use a little work, I think it's a shading issue.
The story and characters make up for it.
First, character design is very good. Characters look different, feel different and are (usually) consistent. The main character has some issues I'm hoping will be resolved in time (his personality has jumped tracks a lot and I'm hoping it comes together eventually).
The story is interesting, easy to follow and has some good world-building behind it. The way that's introduced is easy to digest.
I'd warn for possible rape - Su Zhao's little brother is currently indicated to have been raped but it doesn't really fit with the character type of the rapist so I'm still not sure if that's what happened.
I'd also warn for what I'm going to start calling 'webtoon syndrome'. Where chapters are short, break at odd places where it doesn't make sense, and are really best read when the series is done.
