Okay, I rereaded this again, and had a few change of perspectives. At first I thought the Incubus was a bad person, manipulating Manuel and all.. But in the late chapters, we actually get to see his backstory where he just wanted to belong and help others. Their relationship wasn't toxic, yet it's not good either, but the sheer goodness of helping each other is kind of beautiful.
