So what you’re telling me is this is supposed to be a romance story about this guy, who’s mother made it impossible for her to work in the entertainment industry because her kohai was in love with the male lead. Then the male lead prostitutes her and is raped repeatedly, even by him, gets made at her when other guys have sex with her, which he basically forced upon her in the first place, but they still end up together…I think that should be defined as Stockholm Syndrome.

I really wish this wasn’t in the romance genre since he just straight up assaults her…and it’s just…it’s just really unhealthy and makes me a little sick to think how many people want to romanticize this when he is legitimately sexually harassing her. Even if this is a story, this is not healthy behavior for anyone to exhibit towards someone else.

So…are we not going to talk about his response about her getting raped. I mean I know it’s Japan and rape is not defined or discussed like it is in America but he never corrected her when she said it was her “mistake,” and I don’t know if that’s because she didn’t tell him that she blatantly told the guy she didn’t want to go further or what, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, along with the fact of him being gay but just attracted to one woman, he may be more correctly identified as pan in that case.
