Emperor's Mask
This story is so boring, clichéd and predictable. The FL is bland and the ML is a walking cliché, but without any redeeming qualities, unlike others within the trope. Like, he established a Harem only to ignore all the ladies - even when they try to commit suicide or are murdered. He thinks of them as burdensome, heck he doesn't even want to pay their living costs. If you are so uninterested in taking a consort, then don't. Otherwise recognise your responsibility and take care of the ladies you've taken in. Don't just cast them aside and let them suffer. Like, wtf. Ofc the ladies in this story are all portrayed like shallow, selfish, annoying bitches to justify his actions and make the FL stand out as "the exception" and fit the "not like other girls" trope. But it's not only an overused cliché, but a stupid and mysogynistic concept.
Duchess of the Glass House
Dropped. ML has no excuses for the way he treated his wife in their previous life. MC's father is bastard who blamed his 7 yo daughter for his wife's accidental death, which is complete bullshit. FL doesn't seem to have a clear goal and I don't understand where this story is going or what the author is trying to say. So, this one is a nope for me.
I Became the Tyrant's Secretary
Kinda cliché and predictable, but still a fun read. The FL is tough and witty, which is a nice alternative to the Mary Sue FL's with no personality, but then again: That's not a new character concept either... I'm also not a big fan of stories using a female antagonist as a plot device. Especially not a selfish, arrogant and entitled woman, with no redeeming qualities or chance of improving her relationship with the FL. She is an overused trope, that has not evolved since Cinderella, but a deeply problematic and sexist way to portray women. I like the FL, though, and the ML is not as bad as in other comics, so I'll keep reading for now.
Leveling My Husband to the Max
I already don't like the premise... I've read enough stories about FL's who were neglected and/or abused bc of their thoughtless husbands, to know what's coming. It will probably be revealed that the ML loved the FL all along, but some misunderstanding or trauma caused him to act cold towards her. But I call BULLSHIT on those excuses. Bc the "misunderstanding" is never the root of the problem, that caused the first timeline to end in tragedy. No, the reason is that the ML didn't realise that his position as a man, noble, leader and husband is one of privilege. His actions forms the basis for his wife's life; whether she will be respected or disregarded, be cherished or neglected, be served or spend her life in servitude. He has no regard or compassion for his wife's feelings or circumstance. If, in the first timeline, he had just spent a minute to think about how his words sound or how his actions can be interpreted by her and others, she wouldn't have had to experience the abuse and neglect in the first place. One could argue that he simply didn't know how his actions affected her and that he didn't have the sense to understand or predict it. But even that is an empty excuse, bc he could've found out if he simply asked her, spent time with her or checked up on her. Imo, there are no excuses for his behaviour. His wife was completely at his mercy and HE SHOULD KNOW THAT. Even if he lacked common sense and empathy, that much should be obvious. Yet he still spoke and acted like he did and made his wife MISERABLE. I think it's great that our FL gets a second chance - she deserves it. But he doesn't. The fact that she has to go through hell, be executed and DIE, and then still has to teach him how to not be an inattentive asshole, just means that he wasn't worth it in the first place. Run away from that bastard, please. He doesn't deserve you.
The Tyrant Husband Has Changed
It's kind of cliché and kind of cringe, but for some reason I still read it enthusiastically. It annoys me that the FL has no confidence at all and can't do anything on her own, without leaning on her husband. Yet, they communicate well with each other, respect and care for each other. There are no drawn out misunderstandings and over-the-top drama. Which is very nice. So, yeah. Not a bad story. It's good, just not great.
