#Slice of life #High school friends #High school bully #Seme bullied uke in HS cuz he was gay for uke #Sexuality acceptance #Homophobia #Internalized homophobia #Uke has thin eyes #Uke is adorable #Seme and Uke reunited in college #Seme has been in love with Uke all this time #And tries to be with Uke again #Uke loves Seme just as much #College romance I wasn't totally sold on the couple itself because miscommunication as a plot device is more frustrating than interesting to me. Not really on Uke's behalf, because his reasoning was sound. And the way he was open about his feelings after the Seme tried to break them up was awe-inspiring. And how he later built up the courage to express his thoughts and desires made me fkkn applaud because it showed character growth. The Seme, however...yes, he stood up for Uke in the end and that is character development, but not character growth. There's a difference, but I need another paragraph to explain it lol. Either way, there were a lot of sweet and heart-jerking moments, so I enjoyed this story overall. ^^

#Underage romance #Teen/Minor #Romantic tension between highschooler and elementary child #A lot of fluff #Kid hurt teen when they were baby and child #Feels bad to this day #Is taking responsibility by trying to protect teen lol #Cute moments between them #Childhood friends This is so cute and funny. I like that Yuu (17yo) thinks Tsu's (10yo) feelings are harmless, but then once he realizes that maaaaaybeee it's not, he's like "oh shit fuck oh no oh god". xD

#Everything is consensual #Some drama but nothing hurts #First omegaverse where there is NO dubcon WHATSOEVER #As in no sex until they get married man #Oh but Seme almost assaults Uke cuz of a devious plan from someone else #Seme and Uke are traumatized from it #But they get passed it together after realizing how deep their feelings for each other go It was nice to see how Seme/Alpha and Uke/Omega fell for each other. Everything here is like a slowburn romance--as slowburn as you can get when forced to make finish a story in 6 chps--and there isn't any smut. The closest Slice of Life you can ever get in an omegaverse, and it's refreshing. The only thing is just that I wasn't really interested in Seme and Uke being together romantically. I wanted the Uke to be with a fellow omega actually and this is the first time I preferred that. xD I like Seme too though, typical teenage boy trying to look cool.

#Childhood friends #Friends to lovers #Seme and uke only gay for each other #Wanted to lose virginity #So they lost it to each other lol #Two halves of a whole dumbass #Seriously so dumb #Thumbs up to whoever put down 'Big Crackhead Energy' as tags #But I love it because it's hilarious #Some dubcon vibes #But I think that's more from entering new territory in their long friendship I wasn't as irritated about the whole 'okay a girl is interested in me so I can try being straight' conflict in the story as I usually am. These two, the Uke especially, are still willfully self-unaware. But at the same time, they are best friends, so there's this familiarity that's hard to get past. On top of that, guy best friends. The tension of transitioning from friends to friends-and-lovers AND accepting your 'new' sexuality requires time and this manga portrayed that rather well. Another thing: Seriously love that Seme was not only willing to bottom, but wanted to bottom for Uke. It shows this huge level of respect and makes me root for them even more as a couple. I'm laughing though because Uke apparently doesn't have interest in topping, despite wanting to have lost his virginity the 'traditional male' way. Like. Natural bottom right there lol.

#Underage sex #Minor/Minor #First time relationships #Best friends and best boyfriends #Couple here seems to a be a switch couple #Tou is older gorgeous popular #Tou is also a borderline delinquent lol #Tou bottoms for their 1st time #Sumi is younger adorable plain #Sumi treats Tou as a person #Sumi tops for their 1st time #Tou possible sexually assaulted when younger #Tou is demisexual for Sumi #Great characterization #Great representation of gay teen boys in love Honestly, this is a great manga. The smut isn't the focus for this story, but more of how teen boys navigate falling in love, first time relationships, and how to deal with sexual desire for each other. With the time constraint author-san had, they were able to integrate pieces of Tou and Sumi's background in a way that showed how it affected their present selves. It's impressive how much author-san was able to convey in such few chapters. Also this line from Tou: "I dislike girls and boys, but I like you." That. That line. Yes. My demisexual ass appreciates that lol. And the vibe this couple gives off is not only wholesome, but very...believable. Not only in exploration of a first time relationship, but I can actually see them being the corny 'High school sweet hearts' who'll end up in rocking chairs side by side while holding each other's wrinkly hands. It just seems that wholesome to me lol.

#Slice of life ##Highschool teacher/Ex-student (now adult in college) #Uke is younger ex-student #Seme is teacher #Seme is uke's first love #Reunited #Neighbors #Uke is wonderful waifu #Seme learns to be a good husbando to Uke #Uke captures Seme through the stomach lol #Natural progression in relationship Oh wow, a story about a teacher and ex-student without bullcrap getting in the way? Where age difference is just a fact rather than fetish? And it's all healthy, sane, and consensual to boot? Have I entered an alternate dimension of BL? xD No seriously, this story wasn't frustrating at all. Seme was assertive without being prideful or pushy. Uke was assertive in his own way, but his younger age is reflected in his hesitance. But when Seme gives him the chance, with this easygoing flow that encourages Uke rather than pressures him, Uke goes for it. As with slice of life, I don't have much to say, but that doesn't mean this story is uninteresting or unimpressive in any way. It's a gahdang rare-ass gem in the BL world.

#Underage sex #Adult/Minor #College student/Highschooler #Dubcon makeout #Accidental assault #Childhood friends #Friends to lovers #Love allergy #Heart-shaped 'rashes' #Not actually a rash #More like skin marks So, the three stars...that's cuz I took the story too seriously and set myself up for disappointment. I had too many personal expectations. But the story itself is very good and obviously a majority of readers gave this 4-5 stars. The only thing is that there is dubcon and assault in first chapter, since Seme was acting out his dream, but he immediately stopped once Uke fully woke him up. Still an eye-roll worthy way for Seme to find out Uke had the Love Allergy. Otherwise, this story is more or less fine. The one thing I did like about this story is how Seme ended up being flustered, awkward, and floundering after getting off his medication and able to feel 'love' (lust) for Uke. He was able to kiss and sleep with countless other people, but with the Uke he loves dearly, he freezes up and is like "HOW DO I DO THE SEX AGAIN???" Which cracked me up and hit me right where I wanted it. I was bothered by the half-hearted way the disease was portrayed (which would require another paragraph of my ranting lol), but my main issue was that the angst didn't equal the resolution. Cuz w/the amount of drama these two went though, them entering a relationship was boring. I got feels from the angst and very little from the resolution, so what stood out to me was the pain Uke went through (which I know is not the Seme's fault) and not much else.
Hanaiki -Kasoku-
#Underage sex #Minor/Minor #Hanahaki disease #Perceived unrequited love #Uke choose die over confession lol #Does that count as a suicide attempt #I feel like it does #But Uke didn't really intend to take it that far #Anxiety just does stupid stuff to us sometimes #Being a kid makes things worse lol Oh wow, probably and literally the only non-doujin hanahaki manga. xD And of course, it's a freaking oneshot. So the story went by fast and wasn't quite satisfying, but it was still fun to read. I cackled when Uke was like "I think I'd rather die than confess and ruin my friendship with Shinya so byeeeeee". If I were the mom, I would've like...confessed for my son at that part so I could force his hand, because even if that's a shit move, I'll be the bad guy if that means he won't die. So how the mom never noticed the trash bags upon trash bags of flowers in his room is beyond me lol. Also, the fact that the Seme had it too--seriously, c'mon, he had NO SYMPTOMS. ARE YOU SERIOUS. THAT'S. WHY. But still, just take the story and enjoy as is.

#Actors #Celebrities #Seme experiences falling out w/ex #Ex is his cousin #So cousin incest #Seme moves on and falls for uke #Uke is gay for seme #Cousin was still in love w/seme #But let success-envy get in the way of their relationship #So it was over long before it ended #Uke envied seme too but encouraged seme to keep goin in his career #Seme kisses uke first #But uke is the one to fall for seme first I thought this was a very sweet story. The reason why first loves are so compelling is that there's this romanticism behind "first love = only love". This manga captures another type of love that is just as compelling: somewhere along the way, you fall for someone who ends up being your last love. That's the vibe we get from Uke and Seme and it's heart-jerking seeing how they go from 'Uke dealing with insecurities and Seme dealing with a broken heart' --> to --> 'Uke and Seme walking through an aquarium to allay each other's fears, healing hurts together'.
