Kagerou no Mori

Complete | kusaka takaaki | 2003 released

I gave it 3 stars because the adults drugged Minori to help him sedated and heal from his rape injuries inflicted by none other than yours truly, Youko, the adult seme, an artist with identity crisis about his work shared with his late father, Yougo. Instead of reporting it to the police they (all three adults - Youko's younger bro who drives Minori to the mansion/resort/villa, the housekeeper who saved Minori from the clutches of Youko the rapist, and the instigator who invited Minori to this horror party, Shuu) all conspired together to "help" Minori out during his summer break by confining and drugging him all so that he can "meet up with Youko" and so that "Youko can hold Minori" again. An adolescent boy who's been away from home for weeks without even calling his own parents- I mean, where's the parents? Why weren't they worried about Minori at all? If he was a college student, I'd at least believe it when his parents' lack of presence in the picture is as loud as this. Maybe I'm missing something here. He could have already graduated and is a post secondary student who's studying for university entrance exam for all we know *shrug* maybe. It compact with drama and romance and the world of an eccentric art artist. But I still think it's brushing off the abuse just like that which is typical in yaoi. Good thing about this manga is the way the rape has an actual effect on the victim which we don't see much in recent yaoi. Like if you're raped, the thing will tear and hurt like hell and will require time to heal so realistically speaking, the drugged Minori is almost healed (almost 4 weeks top in confinement and sedation). The weird part I found was that part where he said to Youko, "Save me" like - no. I was like, he's not fully recovered yet but this Youko is "complying" with Minori's pleas. I mean, hell no. Why can't he have a little more self-restrain? Well the ending is good though so readers will just have to forgive and be glad they're happy. The relationship is not adorable (I just don't understand this tag), only Minori is adorable and has a big heart to forgive this kind of betrayal. Kagerou no Mori (2003): 1v 7c Minori was attracted by Kitagawa Yougo’s first work, “Fallen Birds” and came all the way from Tokyo to his exhibition in the countryside. Their first meeting ended in a very unexpected way and it seemed that Kitagawa sensei was deeply in love with Minori since a long time ago. How can that be? Will Minori accept Kitagawa sensei?
