------------------ New comment on side story 8 (sept 2024): I skipped to this chapter out of boredom and see JooHa and DooShik being cute. I don't remember much from what I've read in the original language (time flies very quickly), but this is adorable. I love that JooHa is trying to become more assertive and more decisive with his intentions. aww I love them NEW REVIEW 2024 (SPOILER) Adult topic: I have to say, I appreciate the reference to SANA's works in this series. I can tell that the creator has an infinite love for Japanese mangaka and animators and comic/animator artists so much that she'd reference it in her series. I love the Japanese references about the scary and thrilling stuff about the underworld life of organized crime groups like the Yakuza (for some apparent reason, sushi shops are always some type of stereotypes lmao that has to do with them, but I don't mind it at all!), and the beautiful artworks and the choices in her color palettes! I'll have to put a disclaimer/advance apology if the creator has expressed a clear intention that she is in no way, referencing SANA's works (because I personally, can see the stark references and that's not a big deal to admit, imo. There's no shame in that, after all many fans are also artists and will reference their fav in their own works). The Critical evaluations: In terms of plot, I can understand her need to elaborately jump on the smut scenes, and we can all agree the art is stunning. However, the story has so many weak holes in it. She throws in and mix in so many of the buzzwords (tropes) in this series but never fully bothered expanding on them. We have to address the elephant in the room, what's the pearl about? What's all the mystery behind JooHa's origin and condition? I was hoping this would turn into something supernatural or at least give us something, like some low level paranormal stuff, like maybe he's the product of some human experiment and that he's a mutant unbeknownst to him, or give it some plot twist. In fact, his absent father is the head of the experiment project and is observing him and gathering data about his son's conditions from the pearls collected by his ex-Bf-cum-legal-stepfather. Give us something so we could run with it. Give us anything to satisfy the curiosity. It's frustrating to see the ending tbf idk what else to say. I can tell that the creator is trying to make it seem like JooHa just happens to be that way, so that's not the main point, BUT THE MAIN POINT IS, JooHa's afflicted and the only person who can save him is DooShik. Ok, and? Can't we at least get some more back story to JooHa's condition? Is that so much to ask? I'm not going to say more, I'm just glad we have some more side stories to follow lol ------------------- SPOILERS AHEAD Old Review: 2020-? Updated Review: I find the brothers (Dowon and his younger bro), just the siblings' relationship to be very adorable too. The whole family dynamic is not only lovable, or affectionate towards one another, but they also cared about others who are connected to them. This includes the mom too. lol The side story at this point is cute Old Review: This (main) couple is one of the best FWB to lovers, but make no mistake, Dowon is a gentleman and always honest about his feelings towards Beom. He's openly pining over Beom and is so caring of him. Beom is also always honest (Sexually assertive as Dowon) and he's not your damsel in distress type of character - super stereotyped uke role; he is hardworking and tries his best to live despite the hand he's been dealt with. The creators nailed the sexual aspect part of Yaoi very well and although I sometimes feel as if the story couldn't progress without sex as the main drive to move the story (this is definitely written by man BUT the art is 10,000% done by a superb woman who knows what's up lol) - overall, it's sexually charged, both creators did well. Full Volume (2021 - ?) Dowon has a problem. His neighbor, Beom, seems awfully rude, but he’s infuriatingly gorgeous. And the completely ridiculous cherry on top? Beom turns out to be Dowon’s all-time favorite camboy, which only adds to the (sexual) frustration. Beom is a metaphorical pain in Dowon’s ass, and Dowon would like to return the favor physically, thank you very much. So, Dowon has a problem—in his pants.
