Yoru to Futari
I do think the ending could have a little more resolution, but I really like the story. The art is absolutely gorgeous, and all the characters are likable
Renai Nante Yurushimasen!
One of my favorites. Both characters are so well written and their spin offs are even better. The art is beautiful, and their relationships is very healthy and loving. I really recommend.
Powder Snow Melancholy
I love this story, a rivals to lovers trope that is decently developed. The uke reluctantly asks for snowboarding lessons from the seme to impress girls, but the seme is secretly in love with him and makes his move. It’s really cute but be warned that there is noncon kissing.
Mitsuru-kun no Mitsugenai Haru ga Kuru
Very cute. Not the most dramatic or deep story, but both characters are very likable and there’s no tw. If you’re looking for a sweet and easy read I would recommend
Tasogare Outfocus
Probably one of the most visually pleasing romance manga’s I’ve read. It’s stylish and specific but still so pretty to look at. Mao and Hisashi have such an interesting dynamic, and every time they interact it’s always so fun to read. Mao is strangely weird and he is so adorable and likable as a character. Hisashi has a fairly sad backstory, but it doesn’t dip super far into the angst, and it’s very focused on the two of them. It’s a great story, and I really recommend.
Gozou Roppu no Koi
A very good read. For starters, the characters are what stand out to me the most. They both go through arcs and develop throughout the story, and the writing shows that they needed each other for that development, and how much of a positive influence they had on each other. There is some non consensual touching through clothes between one of the characters and his ex’s but it doesn’t go far and the ex is never seen again. Both of them were drawn to each other from the beginning, and they do nothing but help and support each other. A really great read
Therapy Game
God this truly is one of the most captivating romance manga I’ve read. The story is about Minato fro XXX Allergy, and Shouhei’s older brother Shizuma. After a one night stand, Shizuma completely forgets Minato, and it leaves Minato extremely hurt and bitter. Minato then decides to take revenge on Shizuma by making him fall in love and then dumping him, however Minato is much softer than he realizes and falls in love with the straightforward and good natured Shizuma. There’s a good amount of angst, and Minato is a deeply insecure and mistrusting person. He hates himself while also overestimating himself, but he’s so endearing and I feel like he truly tries his best. Shizuma is probably one of my favorites characters I’ve seen in a romance. He knows what he wants, and he communicates it. He’s so kind hearted, and almost righteous in a way. Despite the symbolism that Minato is a snake that plans to betray Shizuma, you can see that Minato is completely wrapped around his finger and I love it.
Hoshoku Taishou Hinadori-kun
Soooo cute. The uke has an unrequited love for his childhood friend in a different idol group. One of The members of his group notices and decides to tease him on stage by kissing him. Afterwards the seme can’t help himself and gets more involved with the uke and is trying to help him overcome his unrequited love. After the uke’s heart is broken he proposes to be sex friends with the seme and they both fall in love from there. The art is beautiful to look at, the seme is actually very likable, and their relationship is very cute and passionate. Would really recommend!
Shishunki Cherry Bullet
Very light and cute read. There’s no real drama or any of the regular gross tropes often found in Yaoi. All sex is consensual, and the uke is usually the one that initiates which is a breathe of fresh air. The seme is very good at communicating and is such a sweetheart, and the uke is just adorable. The story picks up after they’ve already been dating for a while, and Azusa wants to see Asahi lose control when they have sex and that’s mostly it. There’s no rival side plot and no sexual assault. It’s very cute and surprisingly wholesome. Not the most deep and developed plot, but it’s still a nice read
Bakemono no Hanayome
