I was worried this would be morally questionable but there was no grooming, creepy/inappropriate interactions or anything of pedophilic nature. He was just a lonely man who grew really fond of a child (just pure affectionate love, not lust) The characters don't feel 'flat' and they have realistic worries. Cute and short read overall.
