It’s February, and it still hasn’t snowed. Kanon’s father is going on a business trip. Her little brother collects insects, but they’re dying off. And it turns out that this die-off is the first sign of a horrific plague to come, starting with the rats, looking for a new food source. Then it gets bad… Following in detail the total annihilation of the population, from the very beginning, realistic, great pace: very good read!

In the horror of witnessing his classmates perish before his eyes in a violent train wreck, Teru discovers two survivors in the tunnel: Ako and Nobuo. But salvation from this bloody carnage is far from their grasp, buried as they are in complete darkness, lacking food and water, and with the stench of death and decay escalating by the day.

Thought it'd be a survival of students one like so many others I dropped ; plus the art isn't my taste. But it turned out sooo absorbing and mysterious, even the clichés that are so irking when obviously done from lack of inspiration didn't feel contrived at all. So maybe it's the dark ambiance? To sum it up : Increasingly sucks you in as you read on, and full of perfectly executed clichés and plot twists & turns!
