i wanted so, so badly to like this manwha. I really did. But alas, it's just another bad representation of the bdsm community. First of all, may I just say one word ladies and gentlemen, CONSENT. If two consenting adults agree to a sub/dom relationship, AND have a safe word, that is completely fine. If you tie an intoxicated person to a table, stick your fingers up their ass without telling them, that is not consent, even if they 'feel good'. Now, this isn't the main reason I don't like this manwha. I mean, rape happens in like 95% of yaoi. What really annoyed me was, well... the female lead is such a BITCH. There's a big difference between being a dom and being a bitch. And being a bitch is not being a strong woman. Nayeon from An innocent sin is a strong woman. Ianna from Reminiscence Adonis is a strong woman. Neither of them are bitches. While Nayeon is on the submisive side of the scale, she knows what she wants and can express that. I have nothing against this manga apart from it's misrepresentation of bdsm. I think that labeling this as bdsm gives the community a bad name. But other than that, smut's decent, and the art's nice, so it's a 5.5/10."
The only thing I'll add to this is that I would not give this webtoon even 5.5/10 that OP did. It's more at the 2/10 for me. As far as the story goes I really did like the premise of a group of ppl doing BDSM because honestly I've never came across or read this type of a story, but this is such a shitty representation of BDSM that I cannot even. The 2 star rating is honestly only for the decent art, but that's it. The whole story is garbage. The main fem lead is a nasty jealous bitch and fucking irritating (ppl are labeling her as a strong female lead ~ seriously??? have we read the same story? what is going on lol?) , it is so fucking annoying that there is no safe word, no "let's talk this over so we make sure everyone is on the same page and undestands what they are about to partake into", nothing is even explained to the newcomers they are just trown into it without any knowledge whatsoever and are expected to 'like it' even tho they've repetedly said they don't like it and don't want to do it - like this is exactly why there's a safe word for this type of situations. To me it looks like the author just wanted to write some smut but had no idea what they were writing about. Like hello? You could have literally just picked up your phone, typed into your search engine 'bdsm rules' and you would have gotten hundreds of info and videos with step-by-step instructions on how to do it. I would have taken you like 20minutest of watching someone explain it to you and that's all you needed to do, a fucking bare minimum to have enough info and insight on how to implement that information into your story. Looks like they couldn't even do that.
Ahhh whatever i'm just getting myself more mad by the minute thinking about it. So yeah I didn't like it. As OP said this is just another really bad representation of bdsm community. Plenty of steamy sex with 99% of dubious consent. When i usually read the story I manly focus on the characters and if i like them and their relationships you bet your ass imma love the story. The thing is, these characters were so boring and uninteresting and the way they kept using each other got boring real fast, in the end I could not give a damn, I could not even bother to remember their names.
And for the love of god let the dudes like each other you fucking wuss ~ 'oh no it's only for the fem dom that i get off' - gah, gimme a break.
I bassically DNF-ed this whole thing around chapter 20, cuz the whole thing got so boring i could not bring myself to care anymore.
EDIT: wo wo woo, I just went ahead and read the comments section. Man, this is why I love the reviewers! U telling me that nearing the latest chapters the main fem bitch dom will get left behind?!! and the rest of the group will get to their senses?!! OMG now i have to read this. I'm honestly not gonna be happy or satisfied unless somone clocks that bitch so hard in the face shes about to feel like she teleported to another plane of existance.
