Kejora's manga / #multiple stories(7)

Awa ni mo Narenai Koi Nara ba

Complete | MITSUKI Emi | 2017 released

4 stars // It's really a shame, if the first and last story didn't exist, if it was just the "God is at Town Hall" omnibus story, i would've given it five complete stars. That's my problem when rating mangas with multiple stories, like, what happens when i super fucking hate one of them and then super fucking love another? Anyway, first story. To be honest it was fine, it felt a bit rushed but that's only because it's just a short story, but i felt like this kind of story shouldn't only be one chapter as there are a lot of things to unpack, with only one chapter it's just too overwhelming to grasp it all together. And i am not a fan of voyeurism and extreme exhibitionism, that's for sure a major turn-off for me, no hate to the people who do, i respect fetishes people have as i have weird fetishes myself, but to me sex is something only the two of you should share to bond your relationship. So eh, at least it was mutual and they ended up talking it out and actually getting together in the end. Second story through to the fourth, it was perfect! I genuinely thought Akaishi was a gag character made to actually be a "god" coming down to earth to help the spirit of the dude cross to the other side, i did not expect him to actually be a really important character for the next chapters and to even have his own story with Arashima. The second story was sad, but it was weirdly realistic and hit something in me, a friend of mine passed away when i was little because he was run over by a car while trying to cross the street, he was supposed to come over to my house because our moms arranged a play date but i got sick so it was cancelled, i thought to myself had i not gotten sick, he would be at my house and not get hit by the car, i blamed myself a lot, until his mother hugged me and told me, "he tried to catch a butterfly for you to make you feel better, so try and feel better for him so he could smile and be proud of himself up in the heavens," thinking back on it, that was probably a lie she made up because how would she know he was trying to catch a butterfly, but it did make me feel a lot better. The third story was really sweet, to have someone love you because you are you, for who you are unconditionally, you should always treasure people like that and i cried on the inside when Sensei finally confessed. Fourth story! Initially i thought to myself, "then Araishi just likes Arashima because he can cleanse the bad spirits around him, if Arashima couldn't do that then Arashima's crush would totally be one-sided and unrequited", but then i thought to myself, well okay, no. Arashima wouldn't even know Araishi existed if he didn't introduced himself to him, and Araishi met Arashima way before Arashima realized so if you put it into his perspective, Araishi's probably have been eyeing on Arashima since forever and could have possibly developed feelings. Well, even if he didn't I'm sure he's going to love Araishi anyway as they're almost always together and he's his sanctuary. Fifth story-- oh my god what, what the fuck. You know you could still make a perfectly fine or even BETTER story without having to add the uncle/nephew relationship? You could've just make the uncle the store guy dude who's always yelling at them and start a relationship from there, or if you insist on the whole "I'm like this because of you" thing at LEAST you could've make him some kind of tutor or a family friend, not his UNCLE, people have different perceptions for this because he's good-looking but i bet if it's your stereotypical ugly fat hairy uncle people would be having different opinions, the whole uncle/nephew thing threw me off and it wasted the potential for it to become a good story, sigh. How could someone make something as good as the second to fourth story and then fuck up so bad for the fifth? it was not even good in the concept, it's certainly worse in the execution. The only reason I'm giving this four stars, such a shame, honestly it could've been three, but i loved the second through fourth too much to give it three. I get for people maybe it's a fetish but for me, i don't want them in my fiction, and well people with incest fetishes in fiction better NOT fucking execute it in real life i will slit someone's throat.

Tonaride Hanasaku Oto ga Shita

Complete | Miyoshi Ayato | 2000 released

4 stars // It was an easy four stars for me, i enjoyed it, but why the fuck did this take me five full days to read to the end lmao. I was procrastinating so much, and i end up forgetting the story half-way so i had to re-read again from the very beginning to understand it. The story was cute, all three of them were cute, they were your niche adorable and wholesome highschool tropes-- first we got friends to lovers, unrequited love, and lastly "initially just sex but then they mutually catch feelings" trope that i'm guilty of liking. I think the only problem with this is again, because every story only consists of one chapter (very few pages), a whole load of information is given to us per-page and it's just very overwhelming to take it all in and then to also progress with the story that's already ongoing at the moment. It makes the dynamic kind of confusing sometimes but it's not something i'm "that" salty about since it is just short stories, cute cute. I couldn't pick a favorite because all of them fall in the same level of wholesomeness for me-- but if only we got like, a timeskip to five years in the future of bandana dude accepting glasses-kun's confession and them walking together to the sunset, or even glasses-kun upgraded the confession into a proposal and whip out a ring, their story would be my favorite, sigh.

4 stars // I can't bring myself to dislike this manga because of how weirdly light everything is. To be very honest those two from the first story are equally as weird so /claps/ they're made for each other! But in all seriousness, i don't get the Uke's line of thought? Like, yeah ok you got confessed by gay men a lot back in highschool and they blamed it on you even though you didn't do anything and that somehow traumatized you, WHY the FUCK is your coping mechanism seducing gay men and make them confess only for you to reject them? What kind of unhealthy toxic predatory bullshit excuse for a coping mechanism is that? And he ends up enjoying it judging from his expression and inner monologues, speaking as if he has "experience", makes it his "habit", it's not even a coping mechanism anymore he just does it because he's an asshole who enjoys seeing their rejected faces and that's so fucking weird, get therapy little dude, you really need it. And then we have the double-personality seme, also fucking weird. He knows that Uke plays around with men only to reject them so the fact that he's attracted to that is already a red alarm, because why, why are you attracted to that? The answer is because he himself is worse. With the way the story is layed out it makes it seem like the Seme is this cunning dude who gets what he wants, in an "attractive" way, but i juts see it as shamelessly manipulating someone to date you by blackmailing and visiting their workplace everyday and force them to go out to places together. Both of them are so fucking weird jesus christ i don't know WHY i like this story, and the fact that Uke's supposed "trauma" isn't even resolved like at all? The nightmare he had had no significant meaning whatsoever, so is he a traumatized kid with bad coping mechanisms or just a straight up asshole of a person with no grasp for social norms and how hard it probably is for gay people to confess their feelings?? And how did the Seme even get to know him that well? He probably stalked him before going on with his plan shshsh Oh god the more i type the more i realize they need therapy, but it's ok, they're perfect for each other. I guess the reason why i couldn't hate it was because it was kinda,, uh,, cute? It's not dramatic at all and even sometimes comedic, even if the way they started out is kinda fucked up they make a good couple, they "truly love" each other well, if you uh, forget how they even got there in the first place and pretend Uke's weirdass backstory who HAS NO SIGNIFICANT MEANING TO THE ACTUAL PLKT doesn't exist it makes a cute, blackmail-to-lovers type of story, i swear they could've made the uke an actual gay fuckboy and it wouldn't change a thing to the plot, at all. Sigh. As for the second and third couple, and fourth (?) couple, i have few things to say. First of all for the second couple, eh as long as it's a mutual roleplay i have no problem with it, Seme-kun also seems like he doesn't have a very heavy problem with it so i guess they're not that bad, the third story gave me a sugar high! How cute!! The misunderstanding that ruined a few years of their life where they could've done more lovey dovey stuff lmao. And potential fourth couple, let me say this beard guy would absolutely smash that ass, he knows how to smooth talk that means he's d a n g e r o u s.
