Life Senjou no Bokura
God damn, such a beautiful love story filled with fated meeting, tragedy, doubt, happiness and passion. ( ; _ ; ) This had me crying and grinning and freakin angry as all heck, a wonderful unique concept for a classic tale of true love. It was fantastic, I really enjoyed it!
Say I love You
Very sweet lovelyYamato falls for the honest shy Mei who gets bullied and is always alone. Through patience and perseverance he slowly earns her trust and love. It follows their relationship and friendships in school and there are cats. Also this isn't the typical 6 volumes to end at a kiss, in fact it starts with one. It deals with insecurity, bullying and even depression and goes into the friends lives as well. My first shoujo anime and what got me into manga. I had to find out what came next. Oh and there's sex, nothing too spicy but satisfying.
Lookism
Really interesting premise, and a lot questions answered about the logic. Where can I get a second body? But seriously, it's just like one giant misunderstanding that continue to escalate. Jae Yeol is so sweet! Just a shy cinnamon roll (⌒▽⌒). I hope hose two become good friends. Also Vasco and Hyung Suk could be friends if only they could communicate better, Vasco is such a good guy at heart. Just goes to show how misunderstanding and assumptions are placed on everyone regardless of your looks. Let's fix these misunderstandings, yeah. Yay! Vasco is such a sweetheart a true superhero and definately a giant fluffy cinnamon bun. p(^_^)q I love these guys so much. Now this is what I call character growth. BTS, GD and One Punch Man? Boy this comic is after my heart. Jae Yeol is just too precious I can't take it.(^◇^) Kya!! T^T Tae Eun you are amazing, you've been through so much. You have grown up well. I'm sorry you had to endure that Vasco. (;_;) Enter the girl version of Hyung Suk, not surprising actually. Also I'm kind of rooting for Ha Neul she already likes both bodies and she's honest I like her spunk. But somehow I don't see that happening. Although perhaps my true ship is ofcourse Hyung Suk and Jae Yeol, he just loves him so much. But a shounen ai love, I can't even begin to imagine anything else for those two pure cinnamon rolls. Also somwheere along the way this turned into a cautionary tale/PSA for all types of trouble. Gambling, smoking and bullying all vices teenagers might get into. Let's all use are heads and stay out of trouble and do the right thing, yeah. Update: Dropped for now bc of the episodic lessons. Got sort of stale and one note
Nanohana Boys
Bonded by physical disabilities two third year boys become friends slowly building trust. Soon wounds continue to appear on Ishida, and eventually its revealed to be his mother beating him. Continually showing care and support and waiting until Kenji is willing to share what's happening, Yu eventually convinces him that he will help. They begin to put a record of the continual abuse he suffers to put his mother away and get him to safety. Showing Ishida kindness he has never known they grow closer and become true friends. I love this endearing and caring story. Can I trust the roommate, not sure yet... Also, is this BL? I don't know think it is, but I hope it turns out that way. Well, that was it?? Really!? It was so sudden, I feel so caught off guard. All that character development and not much happened at all in season 2. It would have been a better ending I think in season one, it dint really add much to the overall story besides him removing his one eye. I man even then, sort a disappointed it was built up so well with rich characters but after saving Kenji nothing happened. Still I liked season one a lot and love the characters, a touching tale of friendship.
Orange Marmalade
It was a cute and solid shoujo. It was funny, silly, sad and fluffy. Good art and drama, but predictable and cliché nothing ground breaking. It has a good message about acceptance and is largely about the prejudice of vampires. I mean it completely skirts the usual undead issue and turning humans into them and instead they are basically humans but drink blood and have some extra powers. Basically vampire could be replaced with any race and is about being different in a world where everybody fears and hates you. It's really a coming of age drama about a girl accepting herself and finding those who support and accept her as she is. Note: Trying to get through the first episode of the live action drama and all I can think is how the manhwa was so much better. They so far are selling vamp dude(can't remember his name) so much better. Why would they make it about his hatred of vamps from the start? Shouldn't be girls? That's what made his confused slow fall so cute. Grrr.
Is - Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Sei
My hear stopped, tears ran down my cheeks and I smiled filled with support for these characters. This is truely an emotional story about accepting yourself and helping others to understand. Mostly about Haru and his family and friends it tells the story of an intersexual from birth to adulthood and all the trials and joys of this cast of characters. Heartbreaking at times and sometimes inconsistent you begin to root for these characters like they are a friend sending support. I got to say I'm still concerned for Haru's health without hormones I want him to live a long and happy life. Why can't he get male hormones instead? Also I feel like medicine has progressed a lot and there are alternate ways for them to be intimate. Also this manga is bringing to life it's message of bringing awareness of IS. And although it might sound odd, Haru reminds me of Naruto. They both have this keen ability to bring people together and make them want to be their best. Spreading happiness and strength into all the lives they touch. Thank god that wasn't the end because I was feeling really unresolved. At least it better not. I hope sensei can resolve Haru's relationship with Ibuki regardless of the outcome. I just want haru to be happy and feel loved. God damn it I'm finishing it 4 years later but this is a freaking awesome manga. One of my favorites. The story, the emotions are told so well. I was dripping tears as i finished up the final chapter. I truly loved it and hope everyone reads it. Its okay for us to exist.
Oni Wa Warau Ka
That teacher needs to go to prison! For once, please give the proper justice and put him away. This makes me so mad and sad for him, they need to tell their parents and trustworthy adults. I feel so much for him, I want him to be safe and wish he never had to endure this cruel assault that took your childhood and innocence far sooner then anyone derserves. ( ; ; )
Koko Wa Yasashii Niwa
Original plot grabbed my attention. The art is dynamic. That ended so sweetly.
Hakidame to Tsuru
This was good. I'm weak to this type of pairing and they have a healthy relationship luckily. So glad Kei found someone to treasure him after his tough past. Happily ever after.
