Yakozen
Have I read this, seems familiar. Yes, yes I have. What a great look at the pain of casual relationships and the internal struggle of why you stay. So glad that they found partners that truely treasure them. Love the art! He is such a cutie and those chibi's. Kya! (^◇^)Really great expressions.
Maria Boy
After reading the synopsis I was prepared for the worst, but actually the first story is quite sweet. Two friends who confess and love blossoms with a possessive brocon niichan that makes things complicated. Then came Maria boy and I was happy for him that he was gonna make a go at a fresh start, then the horrible stalker psycho reappears and I'm like (・_・; Then you learn about his backstory and how he doesn't even mind being confined, assaulted and raped because he's so "used to it".( i _ i )And then you find out about Kadous real age and it's like (o_o) I should not support this. And the you find out why he left his family and I'm like !(◎_◎;). Thank god parents were actually doing there job for once. Man this plot is making it hard for me to support it. But the characters are likable despite it all and have some very cute moments. And I love sensei's drawing. It doesn't dwell on the bad and isn't graphic which makes it easier to dismiss which is good and bad. I guess I'm glad they are happy and hopefully all ends well. That was some cliffhanger.
Sora o Daite Oyasumi
It starts at the end and goes back to the beginning. Kei seems to be in love with his brother...and fills that void with anyone. And even got mixed up with his stepfather in an attempt as a cry for help or impassioned plea for Roku to notice him... but he loses his nerve. He still finds him in a compromising position and Kei already on edge...can't bare Roku's reaction/rejection... We are left on the roof as Kei and Roku exchange their last words. I'm not sure if it has more chapters or was ended abruptly bc we know what happens next. But there are so many loose ties...
Koe No Katachi
Cried so much I had to stop because I couldn't see the pages. An incredible story that completely destroys you, heart wrenching and so engaging you won't want to put it down until you see how it ends. There are some really detestable characters that I just can't forgive or understand, but for the most part it takes you into the head of the bad guy and you see inside them what drove their actions and how they think and how they change and overcome. It's painful and hopeful and ends much like real life with so many possibilities. It truely touched me and although I've gotten used to the concrete formulaic endings, I appreciate the vague ambiguity of the future.
Yatamomo
This was wrapped up nicely, tied up loose ends and the art was in top form again. I think it summed up the entire story well. And I'm glad Momo feels loved by Yata, and they have eachother. It all worked out in the end. It delves into some serious heavy topics mitigating the tragedy with comedy for both the reader and Momo. Although not total winner for me, I like it a lot, it made me think and feel a spectrum of emotions. !(◎_◎;)k ... Well.. That was definitely ero.. At first glance it seems light but the actual story of Momo is quite tragic. What he needs from Yata is not marathon sex but rather unconditional love and caring that Momo has never received. All he's known is that sex equals money/something he needs or wants, it is not an expression of love. Although we see Momo clearly changing because of Yata's mothering protection it's almost undone with his ferocious sexual appetite. I'm not sure how I feel about it, like Momo says it almost feels like rape at times. A real life look at trauma caused by prostitution, laughing everything aside so he won't break down. It's sobering when Momo takes something seriously but is quickly pushed aside by a gag as if to stop the reader from balling and keep a facade of comedy just like Momo. I love the art, its drawn well including the backgrounds, though it definately changes over volumes. It definately falls apart at times becoming sloppy. I love her paneling, they are interesting and display the action well. The dramatic scenes were done so well, but it can get busy especially in the second volume. Sensei seems to like sound effects. There was a couple of chapters that used textured screens and I am not a fan of that effect. It makes a scene busy and messy and unpleasant to look at. It seems like an unnecessary way to take up blank space thats just distracting. Luckily it seemed to be temporary. There were times though that she would use loads of panels and yet it worked, combining close ups with little dialogue emphasized the action while makeing it easy to read. Rating 3.9/5

Escape Journey
It’s hard for me to move past that one horrible fight that had where he forced himself on Nao... I just hate violence. But I do think these two do very much love each other and it was nice to see their story in all its angsty glory. I really hope Taichi has learned to think with Nao when it is about Nao. Aigooo, will this boy ever learn. Overall I like it, i really wish sensei wouldn’t have pushed it that far...to me it could of still had the same result. Him stopping and being moved by his emotion...wasn’t enough regret. He’s really quite possessive and to overpower him out of anger and fear is just scary and horrible and oh so low.
Illumination
"A volume of stories about seperatinand insurmountable distances.." A quote from the authors note and an apt description for this collection. It left me feeling quite down, but I liked this look into peoples lives. All of these stories sort of feel like they could occur in someway. Sort of like a small peek into the everyday sorta. I like the art style too.
