It's hard to rate this as whole honestly. What I didnt like was the lack of balance between chapters (seasons) and how different the whole story is from what the reader expects. It starts as a sexy smutty forbidden romance with BDSM that tries to discuss discrimination and social status and then transforms into a little jumbled mess of a chosen one story which I think is trying to make too many points and take too many turns. It's like the author couldnt decide on what to write (to be fair it seems like thats exactly what it was from the extra at the end). I really liked the first part. It was steamy and I could really get into the MCs mindset and his dillemas - his fears of what he could be capable of and especially his rage for the current situation (which is great social commentary). I loved the BDSM scenes and couldnt wait for them to take it onto another level each time. The thing is... It never really happened. The scene before the ball was great, so good, and I wanted more of that and it just never escalated from that point. And after realizing their feelings they never really go back to BDSM at all. Why? Isn't this the cause for their relationship in the first place? Wasnt this a big reason for mamy readers to enjoy this story? Whats the point of using it as a main point, huge plot point and characterization just to leave this subject after few scenes? Can't loving couples practice BDSM? Really dissapointed me on that part. The plot was pretty great, just a little too... simple but garbled at the same time - kinda like... the story was pretty simple in the end (even if it tried to trick you in the middle that it wasnt) but there was not enough time to explore it properly anyways. It could be told in a far more enticing way. It got a little boring for me. There were a lot of things in it that could be expanded more if it wasnt so rushed. The relationships and emotions that were never given enough time were wasted. I think some of the characters and situations were supposed have more impact on me but they never did because I wasnt invested in them enough because of the lack of space they were given. In conclusion it's a great webtoon overall but I feel like it's too short to tell the story the author wanted to tell.
