Yakusoku no Neverland

Complete | Kaiu Shirai,Posuka Demizu | 2016 released

That ending is just too cruel. I understand that objectively Emma is still happy and with her family, and maybe it’s even a good thing that she has no memory of their hellish past, but forgetting everything about the people you love is too painful. I think all three of the main protagonists braved through things alone at different parts of the story. Ray was alone in the beginning, Norman was alone in the middle, and Emma was alone in the end. It’s strange because she’s in this limbo between having her wish come true while also having lost everything… the side stories were great this was just a rollercoaster man 10/10

I am in tears after finishing this for so many reasons. I thought this would be a simple magical girl manga, but I’ve walked away feeling so much more than entertained. The art style is the best I’ve seen in a while, this mangaka truly has a keen eye for fashion! The women in this story are strong, smart, beautiful, etc. This story was empowering in such a way that makes me want to unabashedly embrace my femininity.

This is so fucking insane, truly the definition of it takes a village, I love how willing the creator is to have so many characters on a panel at once… I really adore this cast even though some of them are the most annoying people to ever exist, it all becomes worth it when you see them all coexisting in the shrine… I think my love for big families and contrasting personalities is really met with this story— HOWEVER I wish it weren’t so ecchi because they’re high schoolers— to be more concise this falls under the category of found family Takakura just secured his 3rd bad bitch, this is turning into a harem

7 Seeds

Complete | Tamura Yumi | 2002 released

The chapters always end on cliffhangers so it makes me want to keep reading, very interesting though can’t wait to learn more about the world!! Wow I really am enjoying this… it’s always the really old stories that hit different— I have been absolutely obsessed with this, 90 chapters in and I already consider it an all time favorite. I really hope this gets an English adaptation someday!!! There’s a whole heap of characters to keep track of and that allowed the creator to add in so many interesting stories/moments. They built a whole world with new laws and I love learning about it every step of the way. Something that inspires me is how the creator doesn’t shy away from getting into the nitty gritty and developing the intricacies of her story… You can tell that she really enjoys world building. Even if she doesn’t enjoy it she takes the time to develop characters and doesn’t cheat through anything. After finishing this story, I have come to the conclusion that it finished in the best way possible. Yumi Tamura has a fantastic understanding of the human condition and this story was perfect in almost every way! Killing off characters towards the end would’ve been cruel & made the story unjoyable, so the fact that she kept me on the edge of my seat while still providing a happy ending was fantastic!! There was also another element that I felt would be fantastic to add and she did it, but in an extremely unexpected way! I totally forgot about Arashi’s letter bottle, and yet it came full circle with someone from another country sending a letter back!!!! You can tell she really cares and loves the story, characters, and the readers. This story has fundamentally changed the way I will read and write future stories, I wish I could interview miss ayumi Tamura <3 (I also predicted Natsu becoming an author, very lovely)
