Okay, I think Shiki's story had the most realistic, sensible ending it could have had. It makes sense. You are comfortable with what you know, right? It's the only *sane* solution. Protection of self, protection and guard. Manager. Parent. Sexual health advocate. Psychologist and *physician * . I really love this story, thought-provoking, though it made me want to sob my eyes out. I also realize something else : Shiki owed him a certain debt of gratitude for taking him in and with the *disability*, it would be far worse than if he simply stayed. Just my two cents. :)

The story is quite melodramatic, but the feels...damn, the feels. The best part of this whole thing is the cumulative number of years that they spend together and the beauty that stems from them. The last chapter of Kain and Mel was freaking gorgeous. The second story made me bawl too.

I'm a sap. I am the first to admit it. I loved this. Bittersweet for sure. I can relate to both of them and I really, really loved how the little girl just immediately took to the younger fella, as if she had accepted him as her 'mama' figure. Definitely goes into my personal favorites. Recommended.

This is a bittersweet beauty. It gives a beautiful ninth inning twist that brings home, in multiple ways, the idea that one person, whether they realize it or no, can have a lifetime effect on your psyche and I love that. It's so simple, yet so profound.

Beautiful. It was hard reading her story, but the end was worth it.
