now this is a great example of 'porno that is driven solely by the sex scenes and makes no attempt to be anything else'. never fails to disappoint. there's some indiscernible B-plot about the political climate of the world, which between the driving force of the story becomes very vague and difficult to pick up on, as it is mostly irrelevant to the situation at hand (which is Ilic's massive tits). Took me like seven re-reads to start getting the picture (though I think most of that was due to reading it between updates, and forgetting about it for months on end only to come back to find several chapters updated while I was away). Now that I've got the picture, I can imagine a side story about Isstasia's life and entire side of the story, being the pawn in the royal family, the peace of the land relying entirely on her ability to produce a male heir of only half-royal blood, keeping that child a secret to protect him and herself, and never having a choice or so much as a say in her role in the game. There's a lot of tragedy in that, I think... and while she can't hate or blame her brother, who adores her so, while she can't hate the father of her child or that child, it angers her all the same. How little political power the women are granted over their own lives, even in the royal family (┬﹏┬) love the detailing in the costuming and character design though. never fails to communicate the setting with its 1730s-ish fashion alone. i've come across other series with similar settings that don't dedicate to the fashion and clearly have no research or historical inspiration behind them, and through that, fail to communicate their world building. okay, well aside from all that, i swear this must have been a berserk fic before blooming into its own crazy thing. THAT'S GRIFFITH! THAT'S GUTS!!!!!! YOU CANT TELL ME IT'S NOT. but i'm not fussed about that... it's good porn. questionable moral elements for sure, but i guess that's the point, right?? could really lean into the 'rich vs poor' theme and make some really interesting political commentary if it wanted to i suppose, but I'm glad it doesnt; it's just porn o(￣▽￣)o the artistic expertise in the bodies, scenery, fashion, armour, expression, etc, it's perfect for this sort of creation

a diluted Sadistic Beauty. it's fine to write stories that are driven only by the sex scenes because you only want to write porn... but so many femdom manhwa seem to drift away from that initial intent. it always has to turn into some grand telling of the truth of human life, the complexities and uncertainties of human relationships, and other such philosophies. but the authors, being porn-writers, don't know how to do that. in the end, they make an asshole of a 'strong female lead' and annoying pawns who are her boytoys. the plot writhes dramatically out of control, like an angry snake that the author has no training in handling, and gets bitten. listen man, if you wanna write a silly porno thats only driven by the need for the characters to fuck, then write that. don't try to make comments on society or say anything else. the outside-look and attempted criticism on homophobia towards the end there ended up only being that--homophobia. just give up man.

a nothing-comic. if you remove the clothes and hair, all the characters look the same. i initially liked kim for his big-nose--the only unique feature on any of these characters throughout the entire cast--but a nothing story with nothing characters will only be that. (not) alex is a shitty boyfriend, and i disrespect dong gyun for going back to him. in reality, men like that never change. i guess even in shitty pornos, i like strong-willed protagonists who come to realise their self worth in the end, so they both pissed me off. if i cared for it, the porn is... decent? to be fair, idk what i came looking for. plastic, boring manhwa that summarises our plastic, boring world. but outside of the inherent and fundamental flaw that BJ Alex is as an existing piece of media, if you like it, go ahead.
