Therapy Game
bro . BRO. this is like a fucking 20/10. so fucking good. i think this is my new fav bl. what the fuck. this is incredible. i thought it wouldnt get better than the og story but this is SO MUCH BETTER. holy shit. it had everything. first of fucking all, these are the hottest men i have ever seen. bro this author really does always hit different. anyways - there was some GOOD ASS ANGST. THE BACKSTORY WAS SO FUCKING SAD. minato is a super relatable and great character (and slightly toxic but its due to his upbringing) and it was so great seeing how he developed over the course of the story. shizuma is dare i say the best fucking top i have ever read? hes incredible. i did think he fell in love too quickly but he is so loyal and committed to making sure that he brings out the best in minato and treats his partner like literal royalty. hes perfect. and hes a vet! ugh my dream man. hes bi too so sorry minato ik ur mad insecure abt this but i will go for ur man if u dont want him. hes just so reassuring and understanding i dont understand why men irl arent like this.i get just as possessive as minato, even if i dont have the excuse of a traumatic childhood, so i really do understand where hes coming from. once again confirming my hypothesis that opposites make the best couples. anyways theres a sequel to this so i am excited i cannot get enough of these two. OH BTW THE SMUT. HOLY SHIT ITS SO HOT. LIKE WOWOWOW.
Labradorescence
i really liked this aww. their relationship fell into place so smoothly despite both of them being kinda depressing and awkward. their confession was so cute and natural everything just felt so accepted and wholesome. the art is also so so cool and i love the symbolism behind the laboradite. just leaves me feeling kinda warm and happy. 8/10
Bokura no Tsuzuki
cute! they lowkey didnt have much chemistry but theyre cute together so whatever. im a little tired of tsundere bottoms tho, tho it gave me butterflies when he got jealous. the art is GODTIER. so so so pretty gives me gender envy. yousuke especially, ugh wow. one interesting factor was the little marketshop town they lived in. made me kinda wish i grew up running a shop w my family. anyways pretty good 7/10 for plot but like 10/10 for art.
Umibe no Etranger
this was cute! the movie was BEAUTIFUL and super aesthetic i loved that part of it but the plot was a little hard to follow ig? it was just kinda rushed but tbh the manga is like that too, even tho they did change some things in the movie. i think the manga does a better job of establishing the tone between their relationship somehow. they took some scenes from the sequel and put them in the movie and some are really cute and add a lot like mio's childhood memories w his mom, but some are kinda unnecessary. i kinda wish i had read this before watching so i could enjoy the visuals better. either ways, the plot is sweet. didnt meet my unreasonably high expectations but its not bad by any means. definitely thought shun would top tho that was wildly surprising. their age gap is so really surprising given how young they both look lol. theres also like a really peculiar feeling that this manga manages to capture that i think is really nice and warm. kinda like the feeling of getting together with family and friends on summer nights. theres more instances in the sequel but i really like it. as for the sequel itself, the timeskip was really interesting. fumis a lil asshole LOL but i was too at 13 jsdkfjs. there were no real conflicts which is always lovely, bc i fucking adore slice of life. overall i think i enjoyed the sequel more than the first part, maybe just bc its longer idk. oH the whole moving into shuns family home was really really sweet. that was another thing that made me feel warm, just getting accepted into someones family like that is so cute. watching mio and shun's relationship become more domestic and comfortable was also sweet. i really wanna see what the sequel would look like animated bc it would def be so lively. i think i just like the ~vibes~, the ambiance of this manga more than anything else. the first part gets like 7/10 and the sequel 8/10.
Starting With a Lie
ahhh this was honestly a really good read until the last like 2 chapters LOL. i actually LOVED everything about it except the confession scene for the main couple. i dont even mind the confession between lihang and qiu tian bc it somehow kinda suited their personalities but ,,, yeah. ok so from the beginning, loved the art style. such a gorgeous watercolour style. all the character designs were sooo good i crushed on all of them and all the little lamb symbolism is also very cute. speaking of, i ADORE all the cute lil chibi scenes and gags in every chapter. the author is HILARIOUS i truly laughed out loud so many times. the here u are easter eggs were GREAT too. at the halfway point i was actually pretty depressed abt getting close to the end. i went into this knowing that it would be extremely slow burn and i highkey have zero issues w that bc the chase is the most exciting part of any relationship, but damn not even a proper kiss (outside of the official art)? and yikes that confession. the fact that the only reason they ended up confessing is not thru their own will but bc one of them was exposed thru a phonecall, unknowingly being lied to? its disheartening knowing that they probably wouldnt have figured their shit out unless they were LITERALLY tricked into it. not to mention the main couples confession was so hugely eclipsed by the second couples confession LOL. it was so much more dramatic and satisfying. daye literally was like “wait! i-i-i-i like you too! dont run away this time pls” and that was it. like huuuuh? so underwhelming. tbh i kinda enjoyed the second couple a bit more anyways so its fine. tangtang just got on my nerves everytime he would discourage daye by bluffing abt their relationship. whatever everything else was adorable. i wish there was more content of them tho. the chase is fun and all but its nice to be rewarded w fluff after going thru the anxiety of getting them together so it kinda feels like we were cut off the moment we found some solace. whatever tho it was a fun read and i had a really good time nonetheless. 8/10 probably
