Tsukiyo no Kurage wa Koi ni Naku

Complete | momojiri hibari | 2000 released

Very interesting concept, could've been executed better, imo. It got confusing at times and honestly, left a lot of questions unanswered and felt overdramatic as well. Beautiful art, though!

Uh... yeah. Lots of rape and incest (the manga just ignores that they're all cousins despite constantly being 'against' incest). Forewarned.

Koisuru Ryuu no Shima

Ongoing | Chishanomi | 2019 released

Sorry, I had to stop reading half way because the bad translation was just too much. My brain was working overtime attempting to decipher what exactly was going on and what things meant. Don't get me wrong, I'm always grateful that people are willing to go out of their way to translate manga, they're basically godsends. However, there's a cut off point for translation. It has to at least make sense. Spellings, and grammar doesn't always matter but if I can't tell what the fuck is going on, or actually understand what's written, then I may as well be 'reading' the raws. Aside from that, the plot in this manga had SO much wasted potential. The entire time it was lackluster, horny-only (maybe that's what you're looking for [aka just yaoi] but I'm not, especially in fantasy), and honestly, boring. It was rushed as hell and the characters were super fucking annoying. The mangaka added a lot of traits that they really could've played up on, but were left as empty, useless scenes to 'push the plot' along. If I could give this manga a zero, I really would. I'm sorry if that upsets you. The only thing I actually enjoyed about this manga was the art. It was exceptionally beautiful.

Aoi Hitomi no Bakemono

Complete | Gamoko tsuyu | 2019 released

Well that was cute as shit. If you love fluff, I highly recommend this manga. The plot was very interesting and quite original. There was a really calm ebb and flow to the writing as well that was interest-piquing enough, but not too dramatic. Very much a coming of 'person' story, not so much age, imo. Very cute, even through out the the conflict. Great read!

One Room Angel

Complete | Harada | 2019 released

This was a great drama. 100% shounen ai, but I'm glad that was the case given their age difference. The way their relationship built over time and the twists in the narrative were really well thought out and executed. Definitely a bit of a tear-jerker, but gentle as well. It was nice that both characters had tragedies of their own to work through, and go through the motions of acceptance. I'm glad that Kouki was able to find peace in the end considering that he allowed himself to suffer for as long as he did. I really liked how realistic the connection to society was, too. There was no majorly satisfying revenge, just the reality of moving on and coming to terms that even though one could have intense feelings of revenge, doesn't mean you should act upon them. Great read. I seriously enjoyed the story.
