She was sold to a Marquess whose wife had died and he took her in as his wife and trained her on how to run the household so that she could raise the kids and run things when he died until his eldest son could take his place. Mind you, when he dies, she's only 16. The kids hate her and she kept on going in the previous life despite that but then the eldest is about to get married and his fiance told her that he didn't want an embarrassment like her to even attend. She was sad because she was looking forward to it, but after the other kid's nonchalant attitudes when she asked them about it, she left, and she was brutally fucking murdered by what we now know in these later chapters to be the church. When she comes back she makes some small choices that changed how the children interacted with her. Like requesting to see her dead husband alone, because she wakes up again on the funeral day, and crying. The eldest son sees it, and whereas he was jealous of her for stealing his father's attention just before his death and thinks she's heartless like all the rumors say, seeing her broken up changes how he treats her. Other events happen and they're calling her "mom" instead of "fake mom", soon. They have a happy ish childhood. She deals with the power struggle within the family trying to undermine her. She meets another guy who prevents her skeevy brother from beating her in an alleyway, and his father is one of her dead husband's friends whose helped her out. Unfortunately, the conniving ass little prince manipulated his parents into punishing him harshly for something he never did and his dad's been abusive and cruel ever since. Meanwhile, prince is interested in FL and won't leave her alone. Priest ends up putting them in a situation where eldest son thinks prince is gonna assault mom and he punches him. The empress wants to cut off eldest son's arm for it, and prince doesn't object. He's a scheming fuck. Anyways FL figures it out, Empress takes a liking to her, prince leaves her alone for a bit, and thennnn time passes and middle son gets a gambling problem. Prince also got his younger brother into it, without getting involved himself, because skeevy. Meanwhile that other guy has become most likely ML material. ML is no longer enemies with eldest son, and they're close friends now. The two concoct some sort of plan to resolve the gambling issue. Prince trying to get into FL business again, annnnd pretty sure that's where I am at. Some of the flashback stuff was brutal. Kids were pranking her about the wedding and were gonna surprise her and take her themselves and finally call her mom. Eldest nevvvvver said he wanted his mom gone. Fiance decided to say thay herself because eldest said he would keep FL on the house and fiance got jealous that he had emotional connections with her (I think they're strictly familial, but can't tell). Anyways, he stops the wedding until FL can be found, and it is canceled because she's found and she is dead. In the previous life, the now ML met FL as a kid. He saw her on balcony crying. When he became a knight and was tasked with investigating her, he was already kinda in love. Then she died. Sad times. Not to mention that the marquees just before dying locked her into a closet because he suspected her of cheating because of a miscellaneous gift she received. When she got out she found him dead on front of the door. anyways, story is good. Super dark and sad sometimes. super cute and uplifting others. I like the art and the story. 4.9/5

Then she reincarnated as an orphan. Soooo, she decides to become a swindler again to survive. She joined some beggars, got the nickname "The Viper" and became infamous. Then the leader of the beggar group, The Tarantula?, sold all the beggar kids including his own bro. FL let it happen to get into the noble castle and steal jewels, but she felt bad and helped the bro escape. Then she continued scamming and being infamous until she finds herself in prison of the Duke of the Northern territory Drax. His name is like Rexxion or something, I dunno. He's known for being all brawn and no brains. But his butler is a brilliant assassin who suggests instead of killing The Viper that they should use her for their plan. Whats the plan? To make the Duke emperor. Why? To get revenge for the death of his brother and closest friend, Raven, who was the crown prince, and to keep his promise to him to become the emperor Raven wanted to be for the kingdom. At first FL makes a run for it, as originally intended, because she only ever let herself get imprisoned to steal the duke's imperial treasure, some sort of magic ring only royalty gets. But the butler had predicted that and had convinced the Duke to do a slave contract spell thing that prevents her from running away. It also makes it so that if the duke does so does she. Anyways, lots of stuff happens. FL becomes duke's heiress. She gets the prince of an allied kingdom castrated so his awesome sis can become the heir. She catches on when the widow of Raven is a spy. She finds out that the unknown enemy not only has the beggar kids leader and the only person as smart as her working as a tactician but also a sorcerer. Turns out the sorcerer is the daughter of the sorcerer old lady that visited from the north and also the wife of some other duke man who went crazy searching for her for 20 years. Better yet, our FL hasn't figured it out but she is that sorcerer and that other duke's daughter. But the other tactician knows and is using her as a manipulation tactic to get sorcerer mom to make him a potion to kill out ML. Why? Because he apparently thinks his obsession over her is love and he thinks she loves the ML. Which...she kinda does but not enough to trigger the 3rd or 2nd level of the curse the sorceror gma told her about. If they reach the 3rd level, aka love and affection, then if either one of them ever feels love or affection for another person both the ML and FL will die. ML doesn't see that as too big of a problem since he is pretty convinced he loves her and that he can find a way to be emperor and still make her his wife, but she thinks she is just a commoner and criminal and that he cannot be emperor and have her as a wife. Also butler assassin who she gets along with but says she isn't his type starts getting a crush on her after she was worried about him coming back safely from being in disguise as Raven. Also FL is nicknamed Viper because her saliva and blood are so full of various poisons from building a tolerance to them. So she has made out with ML to get him to build tolerance too, butttt he just wants to keep kissing her. Anyways, I left off right around them getting to the "widowed" duke's estate, aka her dad she doesn't know about. That's where season 2 ended. I wasn't sure about this one immediately, but it was quite different and entertaining. It's cute and smart with a good story. The art is good as well. 5/5 ️

Although I've read to ch 72, I wanna wait for better translations or official chapters to come out. FL was imprisoned by her father because she didnt show the "gift" by the age of 5, which she did end up having and using to see the future in reflections during her imprisonment. She decides to play the obedient princess when she's sold off to a foreign prince as a truce for a war, but ruins her fathers plans by not killing herself of the prince and starting the war back up and blaming it on the prince's kingdom. All the maids treat her like shit and her dad made them dirty her up prior to giving her to the prince as an insult. The knights tried spying on her naked while on the journey. The prince is already in love with someone else, but FL doesn't care because she has a business proposition for him. His family full of schemers Dislikes her except maybe his dad. She creates a misunderstanding by staring at someone she wants as part of her business and people think she's a 2 timer. The girl FL thinks is prince's lover isn't but she schemes against her too. I think the arts good, story is interesting so far, will keep reading. 4.7/5
