He also marks on a map the various locations of treasure he hid around the Empire. - Kevin, ML’s half brother and son of the Baron’s 2nd wife. - ML defeats Kevin in a duel to see which of them will attend the swordsmanship academy. ML lets Kevin go to the academy because he thinks it’ll be controlled by the corrupt nobles who schemed his death in his past life. - ML learns the imperial swordsmanship developed by Emperor Golden from Sir Bern, head of the Morris guards. - ML summons the spirit of Hector Maier the sword king and the only one to defeat Emperor Golden in a duel. ML asks Hector to teach his unique swordsmanship to ML. In exchange, ML promises to find a necromancer who can resurrect Hector as an undead being. - ML volunteers to join the military for a year as part of his obligations as a noble. He applies for the division at the Forest of Evil, one of the most dangerous areas in the Empire. One of ML’s treasures is hidden there. - ML travels to Fort Caliburn near the Forest of Evil. - Essellan was the commanding officer when Hans did his military service. Tina is Essellan’s aide. - ML completes the basic training with a perfect score and is assigned as the new lieutenant for an elite special forces unit called Caliburn’s Needle. Essellan gives a holy sword to ML. - Ronan Poram, adopted son of Kingston Poram - The previous Lt Carter served with the unit for 5yrs. He went missing and is presumed dead. He was investigating an evil spirit he nicknamed Black. ML’s first mission is to continue Carter’s investigations. ML tries to summon Carter’s spirit but no one appears. This means Carter is probably still alive. - ML summons one of Carter’s subordinates who was killed by Black. ML learns that Black can possess living bodies. Also the scent of cucumber acts as an alluring stimulant for Black. - ML gets a cologne with a cucumber scent and casts a spell to spread the scent outside. A large group of minotaurs is led by a white minotaur who is attracted to the scent and they attack ML’s unit. Black has possessed the white minotaur. - ML’s soldiers take care of the minotaurs while ML beheads the white minotaur. Black escapes when ML tries to capture it with magic. ML kills a bear possessed by Black and makes it show him where Lt Carter is. In a cave ML finds Carter unconscious. - Black says it’s name is Clever, the last of the mimic tribe. It has a subspace ability and promises to give it’s massive treasure hoard to ML to spare it's life. ML gets Clever to swear an oath of loyalty to ML. Later Clever changes it’s appearance to a white cat. Lt Carter is carried back to the barracks by ML. - Clever helps ML find his treasure in the Forest of Evil. It’s an orb of the demonic venom tribe’s heart. ML consume it and becomes immune to all poisons. His blood also becomes a deadly poison. - A year later, ML has completed his military service and his position returns to Lt Carter who has been slowly recovering. - Essellan gives ML a 3-star distinguished medal of honour. He also promises to grant one wish for ML in the future. - ML still can’t awaken his sword aura. The more powerful a person is, the harder it is for them to draw out their inner aura. Once they do, their aura is much stronger compared to others. - ML travels to the free city of Vivaldi (similar to Las Vegas). - It’s known as the greatest pleasure city in the Empire. - Brent Larson is the undefeated chess champion for the last 10yrs and mayor of Vivaldi. ML defeats Brent in a private game of chess. ML invented chess in his past life and Brent learnt chess from ML. - ML pretends to be the 2nd chess student after Brent. - ML promises to keep Brent’s defeat a secret in exchange for money. ML gives Brent a summoning scroll to alert ML if anyone else comes to challenge Brent in chess. ML will help Brent then. - ML registers at the 10 Million Gold Arena to participate in the sword competition. ML bets on himself and makes even more money from his wins. He keeps raising his rank and betting on himself until he defeats the no.1 champion. - Ten is the arena owner. He is in debt to ML who is owed a fortune after betting on himself against the arena champion. - ML says Ten can slowly pay ML back. For now as part payment, ML takes all of the Cold Iron that Ten owns. - Colt Iron: a rare mineral found in the deepest parts of the ocean. It has a mana amplifying property. - ML gives a summoning scroll to Ten to alert ML if anyone challenges him. ML will also be staying at Ten’s mansion. - The arena also operates as an info guild. ML plans to make the arena info guild as big and reputable as the Silver Moon, the largest underworld guild in the Empire. - ML starts recruiting for a new arena mercenary corps called Million. Most applicants fail the rigorous tests set up by ML. - Hegler is the first to pass. He’s on the run with his wife Sona and 4yo daughter Nia from a Count. Hegler beat up the Count for sexually harassing Sona. ML promises to protect Hegler. - Whispering is an earring artifact that enables communication with animals and plants. ML retrieves the earrings from a lake. ML also obtains a water dragon egg. - In ML’s past life, Ankellman the port city of was an independent state that was destroyed in a war against Golden. - Sir Ban is a swordmaster and former deputy commander of the Ankellman knights. He killed the Ankellman king and the knight commander who refused to give up their pride and surrender. Ban negotiated with ML to make Ankellman a free city. Ban became ML’s sword and one of his closest aides. - In ML’s past life, he ordered his followers to scatter and find asylum elsewhere. Ban disappeared. - Harz is the Ankellman mayor appointed by ML and Ban. - ML meets Harz to provide a solution to the local aqua farms that have become infested with a deadly fungus (secretly caused by ML). While getting Clever to remove the fungus, ML spreads a fake powder he claims is the cure. - ML gets Harz to arrange a meeting with Ban. - ML reassures Ban that he’s not a spy for the nobles. - ML pretends that Henry Morris the archmage was his master. - ML proves his skills in a spar with Ban. ML recruits Ban as the Million vice captain and with ML as captain. - ML proposes forming a pact between Vivaldi and Ankellman. - ML gives a necklace to Nia … - ML releases former accountants and business managers who are in debt and imprisoned by loan sharks. He recruits them as part of his professional management team. - Silver promised to protect ML’s people if ML sacrificed himself. After ML’s death, his people were banished by Silver to Salgera the harsh frozen wasteland in the far north. - ML registers as a B-rank mercenary at a mercenary guild. - He also registers the Million mercenary corps. - Ten arranges for ML and Hegler to be included in a supply transport mission to escort a private merchant to Salgera. - They’re ambushed by fake bandits and many of the Hound mercenaries are killed. A noble is restricting supplies to those exiled in Salgera by attacking the merchant delivery en route. - Under the imperial family, there are 6 great noble houses that make up the Empire’s power structure. - 1 Duke, 2 Marquis and 3 Counts. - Duke Arthur Highlander - Marquis Albert Etherweather, a spiritualist. - Marquis Aubert Crimson, a strategist and a tactician. - Count Aizen Shownan. He lost the battle for the Marquis title to Aubert. He’s a vain and foolish man. - Count Oscar Agee, a spear commander. - Count Terrion Falcon, an archery commander. - ML reaches the Slann Gorge checkpoint under Sir Bunt the gatekeeper’s shield. Bunt was awarded a medal for his service by ML in his past life. Bunt was demoted after ML’s death. - The exile village is hidden underground. - Only 15 survive from the original group of 50 people. - ML looks for a water source and finds a frozen lake protected by an ice spirit. The water dragon egg reacts to the water in the lake and hatches. It eats the essence of ice which unfreezes the lake. ML names the water dragon “Elagon.” - It has water, ice, poison and healing powers. - ML provides food, clothing and shelter to the exiles. - The fake bandits were the 5th unit of the Viper knights. - The Viper knights are led by Sir Salmora, 1 of the 10 imperial swords. Salmora is loyal to Marquis Aubert. - ML meets Count Aizen and provides evidence of the Viper knights being involved in the raid on supplies to Salgera. - An emergency meeting is called by Aizen for the Emperor and the 6 heads of the great noble houses. Aizen accuses Aubert of embezzlement and misusing imperial knights which infuriates the Emperor. Aubert is too clever and regains the Emperor’s favour. - ML starts a new Million company to manage the supplies to Salgera from now on. - The 3rd unit of the Viper knights is sent on a secret mission to eradicate everyone in Salgera. They’re wiped out by Ban who was trying to meet up with ML but they missed each other. - ML delivers the Viper knights’ corpses to Aizen as another chance to provoke Aubert. Aizen agrees to let ML handle the matter. - ML sets up a trap for Salmora and arranges to meet in a remote location with the bodies of Unit 3. Salmora leads Unit 1 of the Viper knights and also brings Kale the Lightning mage with his 3 magic disciples. ML teleports Salmora to have a 1-on-1 battle with Ban. ML and Clever take care of the rest. - ML keeps the 4 mages alive. He gets Kale to absorb a Narworm, a leech species that nests in the heart of it’s host. It must receive mana regularly from ML or else it will explode. Only ML can remove it. - Aizen is delighted with ML’s success. He convenes another emergency meeting. He presents the bodies of Unit 3, then reveals additional evidence with the bodies of the Unit 1 captain and Salmora. Kale was coached by ML to speak as a witness to confirm Aubert sent them to kill Aizen. - Aubert is stripped of everything. He and his household are exiled to Salgera. His forehead is branded with a stigma. - Aubert is imprisoned and beaten up every day. He bribes a guard (ML in disguise) to send letters to Duke Arthur and Marquis Alfred. - ML goes to the town of Momont. Inside a wooden hut, ML says the key phrase given by Aubert to reveal his secret hoard of treasure. Elagon finds a spirit’s egg buried in the ground. - As coached by ML, Aizen proposes an official duel for the vacant Marquis position to see which of the 3 Counts are worthy. Instead of a duel, the Counts will be sent to quell the sudden rebellion in Shahatra the desert kingdom. - Aizen entrusts his military preparations with ML. - ML, Ban and Hegler visit the free city of Mushu, famous for it’s craftsmen. Bulcanus is the Mushu mayor and a half dwarf / human blacksmith. Behoom is the vice mayor. - Bulcanus was trying to create a new alloy when he was poisoned. ML uses his own blood to create an antidote and cures Bulcanus. ML also gives him a special energy recovery potion. - ML gives the Colt Iron to Bulcanus to make equipment for 3 warriors. ML offers to help perfect the new poison alloy Bulcanus is trying to create. ML also proposes Mushu join the cooperation pact between Vivaldi and Ankellman. - ML had special magic horseshoes made to help the Shownan horses in the desert. He also advised on the best equipment that suited the desert conditions for the Shownan soldiers. - Benedict Caliph is the rebel leader and former defence minister. He’s the greatest warrior in the desert. - ML volunteers to meet Benedict while the other Counts rescue the Shahatra royal family. ML and Aizen meet Benedict at the Shahatra palace in the capital city. Duke Arthur is secretly supporting the rebels. - Sir Mordred is Duke Arthur’s subordinate. - King Herarion Khan III - Sellen Khan, the king’s wife - Venus Khan, the king’s mother - Biram the high priest - In Shahatra there are 2 gods: - Ra the sun god, and Janus the god of death and the afterlife. - The rightful king must have the sigils of Ra and Janus. - The king can use the powers of both gods. - ML agrees to protect the Shahatra royal family. - ML crosses the Shahatra mountains with Ban, Hegler, Biram & the Shahatra king. They reach Shaha the eastern desert city. - ML and co. defeat the rebels surrounding Shaha. - The official suppression of the rebels begins. - Oscar and Terrion attack Caliph city while ML and Aizen attack Sultan city. Bernard surprises Oscar and Terrion by appearing in Caliph. Ban arrives before Bernard can kill the 2 Counts. Bernard doesn’t know the rebels at Shaha were defeated. The Shaha forces under the king arrive at Caliph while Bernard is fighting Ban. - ML uses magic to send to Ban the Sultan’s Tear, a family heirloom and a symbol of the Sultan army commander. Bernard realises this means the rebels have been defeated in Sultan. Bernard flees and the Shahatra king regains control of Caliph. - Duke Arthur wants the power of Janus in exchange for helping Bernard. Sir Mordred kidnaps Venus and Sellen. Bernard reveals his 2 hostages at the Shahatra capital. The hostages are released after ML gives Bernard the royal rings bearing the sigils of Ra and Janus. - ML gets Clever to swallow up Bernard. ML fights Bernard in the subspace within Clever. It’s a close match until ML finally awakens his sword aura and defeats Bernard. - Clever delivers the rings, the hostages and ML who is badly injured to the Shahatra king. ML is healed by the king. - The king reclaims the capital. ML asks the king to end the national seclusion policy of the Shahatra kingdom. In exchange ML will secretly teach magic to the Shahatra people. - Aizen’s large contribution in stopping the Shahatra rebellion is acknowledged by the Emperor. Aiken is awarded the Marquis position. At the celebration banquet in the palace, ML retrieves another hidden treasure at the back of the imperial garden. - Luminol’s Anklet absorbs mana from the earth (?) - ML retrieves all of his other treasures hidden at the palace. - Most of Shahatra’s luxury goods were a tribute sold exclusively sold to the imperial family. Under Aizen’s sponsorship, ML will expand production and trade these goods with the nobles. - The Shahatra king uses the power of Janus to resurrect Hector Maier as a death knight. As a warmup, Hector hunts 500 monsters. Clever consumes the monsters and turns into an egg to evolve. Hector can possess corpses of humans, animals and monsters. - Hegler promises ML to become a swordmaster in 1mth. - He trains under Ban. Hegler has to fight Count Dialo and his men. Dialo was the one who harassed Hegler’s wife. - Hegler kills all of Dialo’s men. Aizen has already pardoned Hegler for harming a noble. - ML arranges a trade deal with Fort Caliburn for the resources from the Forest of Evil. ML meets Essellan and Ronan Poram. - ML wants to expand his mercenary corps. - ML wants to become an archmage within 1mth. - Pink Swamp is a specialty Shahatra incense modified by ML with alchemy and magic to make it highly addictive. - Black Tear is a special growth elixir invented by ML. It’s effects and risks are greater than Miracle Blue. ML consumes the elixir and Elagon helps to lessen the pain. ML reaches his 6th circle and the rank of archmage. - ML creates a new magic tower in Salgera. He calls it “Snow Tower.”
