Core abilities either disappear or are amplified. - A core user becomes extremely obsessive about their caller. - The zombie epidemic has a latent period of 1wk before symptoms show. The infected person experiences great pain and becomes extremely aggressive. There is no cure. - Sak 20yo always thought he had a worthless core. - He emits a strong bitter smell of grass. - He also has an extremely sensitive sense of smell. - Lima was sold off as a child soldier. He’s always lived a harsh and miserable existence, doing all he could to survive. - He is Sak’s caller. Sak can tell what Lima is feeling by looking into his eyes. - Ginger, an older student at the School who is now part of the research team. Sak admires and respects Ginger. - Ginger’s core ability is mind manipulation / brainwashing. - Hana was the first person discovered to possess a core 11yrs ago. - She’s now an important figure at the research institution. - Her caller is her younger sister Nana. - Sak and Lima kiss and have sex for the 1st time (Ch 20) - They keep having sex but Lima is a selfish and inconsiderate bastard. The island is where experiments were conducted on the children that revived their dead corpses into “ghosts” (?) - Hana arrives at the island to pickup Lima and Sak. - They return to the School. Lima is imprisoned. - Sak has to undergo some tests.
