He was held back in school multiple times due to his poor health. - Inseop was an outcast who was often bullied and racially vilified as one of the few Asians at his high school in the US. - Jenny saved Inseop from being raped by one of the bullies. - Wooyeon was a football quarterback at their high school. - Jenny had bipolar disorder. Her mother also abused her. - Jenny liked Wooyeon and wanted to go to the prom with him. - Inseop and Wooyeon attended the Korean Student Association meetings in high school. Inseop was captivated by Wooyeon’s voice as he read aloud a Korean poem during one meeting. - Did Jenny kill herself? - Did she donate her heart to Inseop? - She left a letter for Inseop that blamed Wooyeon (?) - Inseop left his adopted family behind in the US to follow Wooyeon to South Korea. He wants to avenge Jenny by finding out Wooyeon’s weakness then using it against him. Inseop wants to publicly expose Wooyeon’s two-faced nature then return to the US. - There was an incident (in college?) with a football player on the opposing team who insulted Wooyeon with racist remarks. - Wooyeon severely injured the racist player and several other players who tried to stop Wooyeon. It ended the football careers for most of them. The wealth and influence of Wooyeon’s family kept him out of prison. - The doctor recommended for Wooyeon to be permanently incarcerated in a mental institution. His mother was in such despair that she slit her wrists. While she recovered, Wooyeon’s father sent him to South Korea to “fix him.” - A relative discreetly arranged for Wooyeon to be admitted to a Korean sanitarium instead of a mental hospital in the US. - Wooyeon became an actor to spite his father. Wooyeon broke out of the sanitarium and signed up with the first entertainment agency he could find. - JN Entertainment, Wooyeon’s agency - President / CEO Kim Hakseung is from a chaebol family and a former model. He did modelling as a hobby. - Deputy Chief Cha Hyungyu. He was CEO Kim’s manager when he was a model. He was also Wooyeon’s first manager (?) - After CEO Kim divorced his 2nd wife, she married Mr Cha. Then she divorced Mr Cha and he had to pay alimony. - Wooyeon saves Inseop from attempted rape by 2 men in a public restroom. When the men pursue them in their car, Wooyeon throws a wrench that smashes their windscreen. The 2 men later ambush Wooyeon and Inseop near a lake. They attack Wooyeon who is pushed into the water and the men escape. - Inseop had just found out that Wooyeon couldn’t swim. - Wooyeon has been suspicious of Inseop from the beginning and doesn’t believe Inseop is his fan (more like anti-fan). - Wooyeon wakes up in hospital and is told Inseop saved him. - Wooyeon is intrigued by Inseop’s inexplicable behaviour. - Kang Yeongmo, a talented actor but also an asshole. - Yeongmo and Wooyeon are the stars of a new historical drama. - Yeongmo’s agency is producing the drama. - During the first script reading, Yeongmo tries to intimidate and embarrass Wooyeon but fails to do so. Yeongmo bullies Inseop instead but Wooyeon handles that too. - A crazy female fan gives an envelope to Inseop, saying it’s a fan letter for Wooyeon. Later she runs out in front of their car just as Inseop is handing the envelope to Wooyeon. Inseop instinctively crushes the envelope as he stops the car and the razor blades hidden inside cut his hand. Wooyeon takes Inseop to the hospital. - Inseop is upset when the agency surprises him with a bday party. - Inseop feels guilty about his true intentions for revenge that would ruin the agency as well. He can’t accept their kindness and goodwill. He runs away to the rooftop and cries then notices Wooyeon is there. Inseop says he was crying because he was so moved by the surprise. Wooyeon goes back with Inseop to the party. - Inseop gets drunk at the party. Wooyeon takes Inseop to Wooyeon’s home. On the way Inseop calls out for Jenny. - The next day Wooyeon asks about Jenny. Inseop gets angry at Wooyeon for the first time. - It’s the first day of shooting for the historical drama. - Yeongmo continues to bully Inseop throughout the day. - Lee Eunyoung is one of the supporting actors and reminds Inseop of Jenny when she tries to make sure he’s ok. - Inseop felt so lonely in Seoul that he bought a plant and named it Kate. He talks to the plant every day. - When Inseop let’s it slip about Kate, Wooyeon thinks she’s a human woman. - Is Wooyeon feeling possessive / jealous over Inseop? - Will this become a sado-masochistic relationship? - Wooyeon gets Inseop to come to Wooyeon’s place. - Wooyeon makes Inseop read the romantic lines of the female lead from the script for the historical drama. He enjoys seeing Inseop’s discomfort. - Inseop’s nose starts to bleed. He used to often get nosebleeds whenever he was stressed. Inseop lies down to stop the nosebleed. He falls asleep but starts to shed tears in his sleep. - Wooyeon is reminded of the puppy he took home when he was younger. He abandoned it for whining too much and it died. - His mother taught him about taking responsibility for his actions. - Wooyeon wonders if he needs to take responsibility for Inseop. - There is a horse riding scene and Wooyeon declines having a body double. Yeongmo’s manager sabotaged the horse’s reins so they broke as Wooyeon was riding the horse. Wooyeon almost falls from the horse but his foot is stuck in the stirrup and he can’t break free. - Inseop runs to the galloping horse and dives to release Wooyeon’s foot. The horse rears up as Wooyeon falls to the ground. Inseop puts himself between the horse and Wooyeon. Inseop is knocked to the ground and passes out. - At the hospital, Inseop has broken fingers and a concussion. Woonyeon has a torn ligament in his shoulder. - CEO Kim and Mr Cha arrive at the hospital. - Wooyeon finds out from CEO Kim that Inseop performed CPR on Wooyeon after he was pulled from the lake. The paramedics said Wooyeon could’ve died if Inseop didn’t know CPR. - Wooyeon had a friend in the US help him find the 2 men who attacked him by the lake. He wants to punish them himself. - Wooyeon asks Inseop why does he keep saving him. - Inseop doesn’t want anyone near or close to him to ever get hurt or die again. He couldn’t help or protect Jenny when she died. He doesn’t want to experience that loss and grief ever again. - Inseop wants to do everything he can for Wooyeon. - Inseop realises he can never hate Wooyeon. - Wooyeon gets his agency to offer a 3yr contract renewal to Inseop. He says he needs to think about it first. - Inseop only intended to stay as Wooyeon’s manager for 3mths. - The film crew hold a dinner. Inseop overhears Yeongmo and his manager say they drugged the horse that Woonyeo rode. Inseop confronts Yeongmo but gets beaten up. - Inseop sends a message to Wooyeon that he’ll wait in the car and Wooyeon comes out to check on him. Wooyeon tells Inseop to go home first after seeing Inseop’s bruised face. - Inseop comes back to drop off the car keys. - He hears someone screaming in pain. He takes a photo on his mobile of someone coming out from an alley and throwing away a wallet then walking off. Inseop checks the wallet and sees an ID for Yeongmo. The photo he took was of Wooyeon.
