Ch 11 as of 04/07/22 - The Shangri-La brothel owner wanted to create a gay paradise. - The exclusive, luxury gay brothel is located on an island. - The rules for the studs: - Don’t let the birds come. - Don’t have intercourse (with the birds). - Don’t fall in love (with the birds). - Apollo 34yo, the new hetero stud. - He’s gentle and considerate. He filed for divorce from his wife and is aware he’ll have to pay alimony. If Apollo stays married to his wife, she’ll get the other man to drop the charges. Her family will also pay the hospital fees and compensation to the other man. - Apollo was a salesman at an electronics company. - He dated a co-worker for 2yrs and they got married. - The marriage lasted 6yrs until he found her with another man. - Other studs (foreplay men): Marco, Jess - Phi 26yo, a street kid and prostitute from the slums. - He’s attentive to people’s hands as they don’t lie. - He’s promiscuous and cynical. - Other prostitutes: Carna, Mirah, Patrick - Douglas, Apollo’s friend since college and a lawyer. - His wife is Rachel and they have a daughter. - Phi lived in the slums until he was 13yo when he was brought by the owner to Shangri-La. He became the lover of his group’s leader Hassan, while still selling his body. - When Phi was 13yo, “cleaners” swept through the area to kill the homeless. Phi found Hassan having sex with a woman after Phi was mistreated by 3 clients that day. Phi beat up and chased Hassan who fell from the top of a building. Phi thought Hassan was dead but couldn’t check as he was running from the cleaners. - Phi was injured when he was found by the brothel owner. - Phi has a creepy stalker taking photos of him and sending texts. Phi thinks the stalker is related to Hassan.
