He volunteered to be FL’s patron. (NB: He has magic powers). - FL’s fiancé was Marquis Victor Sedell. FL’s self defence against his attempted rape of her led to his death. His brother Marcus is now the head of House Sedell. FL’s self defence against her father, Count Voniek, led to his death after he tried to kill her for tarnishing their family honour. - ML’s warm household has several interesting characters of various unique talents and most of them are foreigners: Benjamin Lux the Butler, Marsha the Housekeeper, Sanko the Head Chef and ex-mercenary, the Doctor (female), Juro Vidal the senior secretary and genius lawyer, Jackson the knight (and other businesses). - ML was overseas for a long time. He wants to purge the corrupt power structures of Kalcass, including the courts and laws that wrongfully convicted FL. He will use FL as his chess piece or joker to do so. - ML asks FL about her aspirations and values. She wants to become a better person and take that personal growth as far as possible. She can be of value to ML and will do anything for him (except give her life). She’s very intelligent and a fast learner. In this harsh world she must have that drive for survival and know-how to protect herself. - FL can read the official continental language that is only taught to boys in Kalcass. She is self taught and was further taught by a fellow prisoner who was her mentor. - During the 5yrs she was in prison, FL continually suffered from the cruel mental and physical abuse by the prison guards. Her whole body is covered in scars, her back and pelvis are crooked, she’s severely malnourished, and she has nerve and muscle damage. - FL is part of a strong underworld sisterhood of women prisoners. They promised eachother: “We will never pity each other as long as we shall live.” Later with ML’s help, FL gains access to Speth Prison to collect the remains of their teacher and mentor Barbara Stalla, and to perform a proper burial for her. - Meister manor and military academy: Marcus and some other noblemen challenge ML to participate in this “game”. FL is the masked and mysterious “Raven” who turns the tables on these noblemen. FL provokes then helps the young, recently widowed, Lady Gillian Meister 35yo to safely inherit the manor property in exchange for the academy. - Gillian applies for the formal course on manor management at the Ministry of Finance (ML sponsors her). - ML surprises FL by making her the chairman of the academy which will be open to both men and women. - FL invites Viscountess Judith Pierre from Nova to be the headmistress. - An early reward from ML to FL is a beautiful combat horse from Marma who she calls “Raven”. A separate trial will be held for the murder of her father but ML already raised doubt about Marcus who most likely framed FL. Her family manor will be returned to her as compensation. - Marcus attacks ML’s carriage, thinking it has the witness for the next trial. ML accuses Marcus of trying to kill a royal. Marcus will confess to the murder of FL’s dad for a reduced sentence. Marcus is made to recount publicly all of his sins to spare his family before he is executed. - FL reveals her true identity to Gillian when they dropoff the registration papers for the co-ed academy while all eyes are on Marcus’ execution. Gillian is inspired by FL as a role model. - There’s a celebratory banquet for ML’s comeback and FL’s debut. Gillian reassures FL to be confident amongst the corrupt nobles and their gossip. They confirm the young Nova king purposefully placed bandits at the border in the hope that war would break out. - Assassins target FL at ML’s estate. They’re sent by Reginald. - Jackson, Sanko and more of ML’s comrades kill the assassins. - Daphne petitions the royal family for a new surname. - FL is seen visiting noble clubs, especially the one owned by Reginald. Fearing Reginald’s influence will grow if he champions the prison reforms, Charles appoints FL as the Speth prison inspector. - Eisen Balza, the King of Nova - Eisen needs ML’s financial support - Eisen had a fiancée 7yrs ago… - It’s actually Reginald who is secretly trying to incite a war with Nova… - FL makes her first visit as an inspector to Speth prison. - She visits Barbara’s grave on the way home. The FL agrees to find a new gem for it’s home. - The author was reborn as the Saintess, and is trying to kill the new Empress so she can take her place. She offers her services as an assistant to Lady Irene, a childhood friend of ML. She loses her divine powers after she uses them against the dragon. - FL’s lady-in-waiting Tania Kaniche has incredible strength (inherited from her mother). She secretly sources romance novels for FL. She gave her family emerald to FL for Aled's new home. - ML invaded the Tetin Kingdom for their national treasure “the Forest of Tetin” to be Aled's new home ... but oh well. He also invaded because they had allied w/ the Dukedom of Etia and had supplied weapons that were lined w/ Celcita’s Silver. - The Dukedom of Etia envoy presented to ML the “Egg of Redemption” relic recovered from ancient ruins. Richard, Lord of the Magic Tower is uncovered by ML as a secret member of the envoy. Richard had intended for the relic to touch ML as he was the strongest presence. It’s magic reacted strongly to FL instead to reveal a gigantic newborn black dragon called Gargantia / Girgantia. - The mage saves Lady Irene from the dragon. Kane and the author saved each other. Main characters together defeat the Black Dragon (it shrinks lol), w/ the FL casting an ancient binding spell (Dragon Lord’s Incantation) from a mysterious book and the author using all of her divine power. - Princess Yuliana is “the Rose of Aswan” and visits the palace to see the dragon as an excuse. Aswan are allies w/ Dukedom of Etia. She uses enchantment (sorcery) so all are “spellbound by her beauty” except for ML and FL who are unaffected. - FL breaks the spell of this honey trap w/ her dramatic entrance and extravagance. She toys w/ Yuliana while the dragon is by her side. FL continues to keep Yuliana in check throughout her stay, much to her frustration. - FL is impressed by the poise and noble etiquette of Lady Irene (who thinks she’s a rival for ML in her own mind), after the elegant way she puts down Yuliana at a public event. FL sees Irene as a potential friend and 2nd lady-in-waiting. - Yuliana (as an alleged successor to the Grand Sorceress) seeks help from the 3 x guardian sorceresses for info on FL. When told who, they say she will never beat her. - Mage Richard is imprisoned by ML since the envoy visit and the appearance of the dragon. Richard tries to provoke ML by querying the true origins of FL and suspecting her of hiding something. - ML investigations find no record of any maids or anyone else assigned to the secluded villa of FL in her birth country. Despite this, FL herself said she was brought up by maids there. FL was told her mother died after her birth. - ML was made to drink Eugendiph’s Blood as a child and the last subject of experiments ordered by his own father, the previous Emperor. ML escaped from the lab in the Dukedom of Etia after 8yrs and killed his father. - The murderous voices from the Blood stopped from the day he met FL for their wedding, and they stop whenever he’s with her. - Aled is in the spirit world for ML to find any info on the Blood and if one can return to normal after drinking it. He is told by Ayura the elf spirit that the Grand Sorceress asked about this 24yrs ago via the scrying bowl. - As ML and Kane depart to conquer the Dukedom of Etia, FL is assigned Richard (under magic contract) as her protector. - Irene and the author have started at the palace under FL. Both have ridiculous plans to kill FL and take on her role for themselves. - Yuliana invites FL to the opening of a new casino hotel in another attempt to humiliate her in public. - Blood drop of the blue phoenix: blue gem that ML gave to FL. Whomever holds that blood drop will be protected by the blue phoenix forever. - FL arrives on a Pegasus and holds the sceptre to show she represents the Emperor while he’s away. - FL bets a game of dice with Yuliana, and wins after somehow dispelling her sorcery and making her power disappear. FL bet the blue gem and sceptre. Yuliana bet and lost her status. - FL was upset Irene was hurt at the casino and asks to be friends rather than just have her as a lady-in-waiting. - ML is almost finished conquering Etia. One last castle of Archduke Parus remains. ML enters alone and the Archduke who started the Eugendiph’s Blood experiments traps him with a magic circle. It turns ML into his ‘true form’ of a deadly black swirling mass. It spreads out and devours everything in its path. - FL hears ML’s anguished cry. Something pushed FL to fall through a portal opened by Aled and Richard. She’s in a huge library of books with stories about Cecile and Estian who die in the end. She meets the ghost of the Dragon Lord who tells her that each of those books are individual worlds. The Dragon Lord uses the last of her power to send FL directly to ML. - After FL is gone, the Dragon Lord calls FL the daughter of the Grand Sorceress. As the last version of the story (from millions of versions), FL doesn’t run away from ML and saves him after following the instructions from a strange book that appeared suddenly. She needed the combined power of Richard, Aled and her sceptre. As if from a dream, FL wakes up with ML back at the imperial palace. - Kane and the author are on track to getting together. - ML and FL go on their first holiday together in Stoa. - Crown Prince Ryuin of the Dark Empire on the eastern continent is planning to kidnap FL. He sees her as his wife. - Yuliana arrives in Stoa to get her revenge on FL. A strange book suddenly appears near Yuliana and gives her instructions on how to kill FL. - ML kills the white serpent monster near the golden apple trees. These apples can now be harvested and used to make the famous Stoa apple pies. FL really wanted to try one. - The author has gone to Stoa for a break too and is found by priests of the temple. She tricks them to go gather her followers then flees. - Kane finds the author at the festival. - Yuliana has prepared a spell to cause FL’s death by fireworks at the festival … - Tania and the dragon arrived in Stoa after being summoned by ML. They help with the local tourism by posing as an attraction. - The dragon transforms into a human and helps stop thieves from robbing Tania. - Yuliana has died to fulfil the unwritten condition of using a forbidden spell. She made a mistake and the spell targeted ML instead of FL. ML traced the mana back. - Kalia (who’d approached Yuliana much earlier when she was at the palace) was there but then left after ML came. Kalia is the previous Cecile but the previous Estian died, so she’s come to the current and last version of the world. - Ryuin kidnaps FL and takes her away. He tells her that she’s the “Ender”, someone who has the power to change the end of the story and the end of this world. - ML transforms due to Eugendiph’s Blood going berserk and a black mass explodes. The priests have gathered and the author absorbs their holy power. She uses all of that power on ML, then faints but is caught by Kane. - ML is back to normal and has caught up to FL with Ryuin, who describes ML as the calamity that will kill FL and end the world. ML and Ryuin fight. Richard arrives but says he can’t stop them. FL awakens the mana within and calls forth the rain. ML catches her as she collapses. Her body fades then disappears completely. - The guardian sorceresses were disguised as maids that looked after FL as she grew up in the palace. The Grand Sorceress wanted FL to live a normal life, so she cast a seal and other restrictions on FL. - Because FL has broken the seal and those restrictions by force, her body has gone to the world tree to recover. - ML makes Richard open a portal to the world tree. - Aled has taken Ayura with him to find FL at the world tree. - Aled sees ML there who promises Aled all of the Empire’s treasures if he takes ML to FL. - The world tree spoke to FL after she bit into its fruit. The tree shows FL some memories from past versions of herself that have visited the tree before. The tree tries to kill FL but is stopped by ML. Aled opens a portal and Ayura guides ML and FL through it back to the palace. - FL suddenly asks ML that she wants to visit the Navitan kingdom. Ryuin and Richard are put in a dungeon when they arrive. - FL had a drinking party with Irene, Tania and the author. They share their worries while overheard by their men (except Irene). FL doesn’t want her life to be predestined or fate. She wants to walk her own path and choose for herself. - FL digs up the grave of her mother and finds nothing in the coffin. She’s upset she has no memories of her mother and questions who she really is. ML comforts her … in bed. - The dragon kissed Tania while she was drunk. She’s in denial. - The author realises she never finished writing the story. - Richard escaped from the dungeon and helped Irene when she was drunk. She cut her hand on some broken glass and her blood tasted like it had Eugendiph’s Blood. - An ominous red star has appeared in the sky … - Tania receives a letter from home and asks FL to quit being her lady-in-waiting. Tania wants to go home to help subjugate the monsters that have appeared. - Aled comes back from the world tree and provides a summary about the countless worlds, ML destroying these worlds, FL being the daughter of the Grand Sorceress, etc. The destruction of this world is beginning and the signs will be visible soon. The world tree also mentioned an outsider. Kane is tasked to find them. - Kalia has revived the Dragon Lord and obtained a sword with Celcita’s silver to kill ML. She’s also behind the declaration of war by the Alliance of Kingdoms that was sent to ML to lure him out.

This is after she had a failed life spent being used by others. - Instead of throwing tantrums and misbehaving, FL learns her etiquette properly including embroidery to advance ahead of her stepsister as much as possible. - FL suggests furs as a worthwhile investment and gives an embroidered handkerchief to her stepfather the Count. - She sets fire to her old clothes, forcing Mielle to act charitable and lend her clothes. FL picks a dress that was a gift from her love interest Oscar Frederick, son of a Duke. - FL buys a regular subscription from the commoner newspaper seller when she goes into town. While picking up her repaired hourglass, FL offhandedly tells the shop owner to sell his casino auction ticket as she knows it’ll become worthless after the Crown Prince raids the casino for slave trafficking. - A strange young man stops FL and questions her on what she might know. FL is able to give a glib answer and slip away. - FL attends her 1st tea party by her tutor Sarah Loren (only daughter of a Viscount) and charms the guests with her new attitude and embroidered gifts. FL asks for more tutors but really wants to make more connections and use them instead. - Oscar with FL’s stepbrother Kain make a surprise visit to the Count’s home. While Kain and Mielle are out shopping, FL gives Oscar the handkerchief she embroidered with his family’s crest. Later Oscar sends gifts to both Mielle and FL. - While shopping for a gift for Oscar in town, the strange man who calls himself Asher approaches FL with a bunch of tulips. Rather than accept his sudden friendliness, FL ‘accidently’ steps roughly on the tulips before leaving. - FL raises the issue with her mother of the sick coachman swapped last minute by another and the broken carriage during her trip to town. The staff are reprimanded by the mother. FL knows Mielle and possibly her maid Emma are behind this incident. - FL discovers she can turn back time with the hourglass once a day for 5 mins. She becomes very tired and needs to sleep for a long time after. She also ages a little each time she uses it. She plays around with it on trivial things at 1st but later learns to use it more effectively. - Oscar met FL to initially return the gift and stop any contact with her but he is too kind hearted and agrees to be pen pals with her. - FL has gained a new maid Annie from Mielle and she is enamoured with high society. FL tempts her to join her side. - On Mielle’s bday, Rain Pino is introduced. He seems to be from a wealthy background but nothing else is known. Oscar arrives and separately gives FL a letter as promised. - Sarah Loren (FL’s tutor) met Marquis Vincent, her future husband at the coming of age ceremony. - Rain has been visiting every day with expensive gifts for Mielle. FL has worked out he is trying to see if she is really the one his master is looking for. A query about the future of the casino is posed to both Mielle and FL, with very different answers. FL decides to not share any business ideas anymore if she isn’t credited for them and focuses on self study instead. - While in town for a festival, FL meets Asher again. It’s obvious he is the secret master of Rain but not to FL. - Mielle has been in touch with Oscar’s sister Lady Isis Frederick, who is expected to be engaged to the Crown Prince. At the trial Emma is sentenced to death by hanging. Veri is later killed quietly after she had left by carriage. - As tensions rise within the aristocratic faction, FL and her mother consider preparing to escape. - Rumours fly about Isis marrying a foreign noble. - The school for commoners opening ceremony: FL reveals herself as the investor and Asher reveals himself as the Crown Prince. Asher asks permission to officially court FL. - FL’s reputation improves and Mielle is reported to be the source of the false rumours about FL as a villainess. - Lady Frey Franz is the judge who presided over Emma’s trial and is related to the imperial family. She invites FL for tea and asks many personal questions, then has FL try on some men’s clothing. - When FL tells ML about it, he says Lady Frey had a younger brother Chloe who looked similar to FL. Chloe was banished with his mother to the Croatia kingdom. - FL attends a scholarship award ceremony at the school. Sarah meets her there to accept FL’s invitation to teach at the school. - While Mielle is hosting a social event at home, she frames FL for pushing the Count down the stairs. Asher came and took FL away by magic, as he was alerted when the bracelet he gave her was broken during the Count’s fall. ML helps provide FL with an alibi by taking her far away on a fake vacation. - At the trial FL is found innocent based on the evidence. Mielle is sentenced to 20yrs in prison (for murder if the Count died), reduced to 5yrs house arrest after the Count wakes up. He confirms Mielle as the one who pushed him. - No one believes Mielle who saw FL and Asher disappear like magic. Instead she’s accused of taking hallucinogenic drugs. - Mielle threatens Isis with the letters she’s kept as evidence that Isis was involved in all this. Isis helps Mielle escape by having her disguised as the maid that brought her meal. - Mielle goes with Isis and her entourage to meet Emperor Lohan of Croatia. Isis is engaged to Lohan and together they will start a rebellion in the Empire. - Mielle tells Isis and Lohan about Asher’s special ability. Only Lohan seems to believe her (or not?) - FL and Asher discover Mielle has escaped but they’re not surprised by it. Asher is already aware of the threat of rebellion by the aristocratic faction and has planned against it … - Marquis Piast from Croatia supplied the soldiers for the rebellion who will enter the capital disguised as commoners and allocated to the noble residences of those in the aristocratic faction. - Marquis Piast is looking for the woman who was Chloe’s lover before he was exiled to Croatia. He visits the Count and recognises FL’s mother from the description Chloe gave him. FL’s mother consoled Chloe the night he found out that the Marquis was his real father. The Marquis meets FL over dinner and is amazed at how much she looks like Chloe. - To overcome her imposter syndrome, on her 17th bday FL tells Asher about her special ability with the hourglass. She also tells him that she’s from the future and that’s why she knew about some events that would happen. Even knowing she was a villainess, Asher remains on her side. - Chloe has arrived with Lohan … - FL and Asher go on a date to a restaurant, and are shocked to see Isis and Lohan there. Lohan flirts with FL which she rejects and they leave the restaurant. In the carriage, Asher talks about his jealousy. FL kisses him, telling him it’s her first in her whole life. When they arrive back at FL’s estate, Asher kisses her in front of the servants. - The takeover of the capital doesn’t happen as Lohan is working with Asher. All of the nobles that harboured soldiers are arrested and charged with treason, including Kain. Isis and Mielle are also arrested when their carriage with Lohan arrives in the town square. - Mielle’s sentence is changed from death to 50yrs in prison. Kain’s sentence is changed from death to life imprisonment. Isis and all of the other nobles arrested are sentenced to death. Oscar was stripped of his title and he’s now a commoner.

When finally discovered by Leilan many of them were dismissed. Brother Bastian passively stood by during the abuse as he wanted FL to deal with it herself but isn’t against what Leilan is doing. - ML goes directly to the duchy to retrieve FL and take her back to the palace. The Duke collapses after slapping FL, infuriated by recent events. - FL is invited by ML to stay at the palace when she visits. The staff are warm and welcoming as ML has become much less irritable thanks to her. - To avoid public scandal or dishonour, and also to bind FL to him, ML has a marriage proposal for FL. She agrees to just a 1yr contract marriage as ML will meet female protagonist Selina / Seyla by then. - ML tries to court FL in his own way but fails miserably. - FL invited by Celestian Ellan, villainess and wife of Count / Marquis Reynard Ellan (knight commander to Emperor, also love advisor). Celestian charmed after FL used sleep spell on her stalker. - FL offers to teach the sword to Celestian. NB: mastering sword is family tradition and FL is an expert. - Celestian and ML become rivals for FL’s attention - Wedding preparations begin, ie dress and gifts - ML’s brother Prince Sulan / Shuran Kaldorf starts to target FL as extension of his hatred for ML but fails every time. Shuran hates ML as his woman Portia killed herself after she was rejected by ML. His life was also a struggle from the time he was born, unlike ML. - Wedding is pushed up by month, held outdoors. - NB: a kiss on the lips has no effect, and on the hand will only have a short nap. On the forehead is for a full night’s sleep. - FL begins her social duties as Empress and handles well the typical ass kissing from others wanting something from her. She picks a plain lady called Daisy as her maid. She hosts social gatherings and makes friends with Marienne Arthur, daughter of a Baron. - ML continues his antics in trying to win her love - Growing up, his mother the previous Empress had very high expectations of him but berated him when he fell even slightly short of them. He became unable to trust anyone or put his faith in someone else, as he couldn’t trust himself. FL brought a much warmer, comfortable feel to the Empress’ palace. - FL popularised the use of a good job stamp in the palace. - FL finds out Daisy is painting small portraits and making figurines of her to give away to her fans. FL makes figurines of ML and he asks to keep some. - ML rivalry with Celestian over FL continues. FL and Bastian save Celestian from another stalker. - At the ball for Shuran’s 22nd bday, FL dances with him and he probes her on how she changed ML. Shuran has planted a spy among Bastian’s men to find out FL’s weakness. - Prince Shuran’s influence extends to temple who give Bastian a difficult quest to complete before they grant him the right to be Duke. He succeeds in overcoming the forest and defeating the witch to obtain the magic flute. This is the same forest where another witch cursed ML. - Bastian is officially made the head of the house in a simplified version of the ceremony, attended by immediate family and ML. - FL holds a tea party and invited ladies she suspects could cause trouble later on for Seyla (and could be Shuran’s informants). Celestian and Marienne are also invited. - Lady Arisa Catalina. Her older brother Colin died when he failed to complete an order by ML. She has allied with Shuran. - FL asks ML to reconsider before he wants to kill anyone. He agrees not to shed any unnecessary blood. - While Marienne was visiting, Celestian catches the man sent by Shuran to put her out of action. Word spreads about this incident among the noblewomen and Celestian brings them with her to FL to learn swordplay. Her 1st class has 46 women attend. - A group of older noblewomen visit FL to criticise her for teaching swordplay. FL stands up for herself admirably and defends the plight of the poorer nobility while she admonishes the women. - ML tells FL how his mother criticised him before his tutors and others when he returned after running away and meeting the witch. FL feels sympathy and perhaps something more for ML … - Annual hunting competition: FL awards her ribbons to Celestian, Bastian and ML. A follower of Shuran’s has arranged for a witch to target FL and a monster is unleashed. FL faces it head on with her sword and kills the magical creature. The hunting competition is cancelled for the safety of the people. The witch is caught and she confirms that she was targeting FL because of Bastian who had killed many witches and magical creatures when he entered the forest to obtain the flute. - ML says to FL that he’ll never betray her no matter what and that he’ll love her forever, then kisses her on the lips. FL is struggling with her feelings and is trying not to fall in love with him to protect herself. - ML finds out about FL’s 1st love and has him brought to the palace. Robin Cairn was an apprentice knight at the McKellion house and targeted FL for her wealth and a noble title. He was the only one in the house who was nice to FL at the time. He was chased out by Bastian and forced to become a mercenary. FL doesn’t let ML kill or punish Robin. - Lady Arisa starts attending FL’s swordplay classes. She tries to injure FL “accidentally” but FL knew what she was up to. - FL is curious about a cave in the royal forest mentioned by Lady Arisa. ML takes her there. Lady Arisa was waiting there in hiding and throws a magic stone which causes a large explosion, triggering a cave-in. ML throws himself over FL to protect her and takes the full force of the rocks falling on them. Knights led by Bastian dig through to find them safe but ML faints from his injuries. FL has the knights dig to recover Lady Arisa as well. - Lady Arisa had tried to escape with a teleport magic stone but it was fake. She wakes up to find herself treated for her injuries and face to face with FL. She tells FL everything, that this was planned by Shuran and suggests investigating the source of the magic stones she used. It is found the explosive stone was most likely created by a witch. FL thinks Shuran has allied with witches, using magic stones they infuse as his source of funding. - FL asks Bastian to help limit Shuran’s funds by releasing a large number of magic stones from the McKellion mines at a low price. Flooding the market will lower the price for all magic stones and strangle Shuran’s finances. Bastian is sent to the nation of Araka to negotiate a trade deal for the stones as well, so Shuran can’t go and see him but he realises FL is behind this and sees her instead, but is rebuffed. - A rumour is spread by Shuran about FL mistreating her maids. FL learns that vials of the deadly witches tears have been distributed by Shuran’s people among her servants who are spies. FL stops Leah the maid and the other servants from killing themselves by stopping them from drinking the vials and taking the vials away. Leah and the servants pledge their loyalty to FL. They are hidden until Shuran’s allies reveal themselves. - Earl Alphonse arrives a few days later with the alleged parents of Leah, claiming something has happened to Leah who is missing at the hands of FL. Leah reveals herself and the fact her parents died 10yrs ago. The accusers are arrested but even under torture they won’t admit to working for Shuran. - Bastian has returned with Prince Zion of Araka to continue negotiations and sign a treaty. Zion as the youngest prince is not treated well in his own country. - To further improve his reputation and standing, ML wants to conquer the west and take back control from the witches. FL suggests to Zion to manage this campaign to prove his worth to the Empire so he can stay. - Zion is locked in his room while it’s set on fire. Bastian comes to save him. Rumours are spread that FL started the fire. FL learns Earl Carwin is behind the rumours and must be an ally of Shuran. - FL had Bastian teach swordplay to Zion. - With only a few months left to their contract, FL and ML finally sleep together (yes have sex!). FL has already fallen in love with ML but still has fears of abandonment.

Couple age gap is 4yrs max. by custom but Emperor enacts Golden Marriage law to use Crown Prince’s true age. - Bitchy competition between candidates emerges as they live in the palace for the duration of the selection, with plenty of animosity aimed at FL and her servant Kihae. She decides to make a stand against bullies, unlike in her past life. - 1st KISS (ch 39): ML slips briefly into FL room at night - One of the bullies pushed FL into lake where she injured her arm. Another ML secret visit to FL at night and he finds her in bed with a fever. He forces the doctor to treat her again. He also interrogates the bribed guard on the lake incident then kills him. To help with her recovery, ML gives her a rare 1000yr old ginseng to eat. - FL would prefer to put the matter to rest but ML uses the next selection round to include all those involved in the incident. - (** Ch 50 on, really bad translation so not sure if this is correct): ML away for a few days and doesn’t see FL. She worries about him and realises she has feelings for him. - Each candidate has a face to face meeting with ML. It is then FL realises ML is the Crown Prince and she runs away from him. ML collapses from the mental shock. He goes to the Emperor and asks to be given FL. - FL’s father is outraged and is against the relationship between FL and ML. They decide to run away together. - FL is kidnapped by slave traders. She’s saved by ML and her family.
