Ch 41 as of 18/03/22 - ML is Kim Suho, college student. He lives by himself. - He can communicate with and touch ghosts, spirits and angels. - Apparently he has a powerful soul with strong energy. - Kim Jaewon, ML’s older brother hated ML when they were children. Their father only cares about the older brother. - Their mother went overseas when the children were young and she never came back. She has the same ability as ML. - Taker, an Angel. He can change into a bird or a human. - After ML accidentally broke his wing, Taker insists on staying with ML as his guardian angel / bodyguard. - Angels can use the energy from souls to heal themselves and make themselves stronger. Taker is a powerful angel from the many souls that he’s harvested. - Unlike other angels, Taker tries to empathise with humans. - He envies the connections humans have with each other. - His Book of Life and Death was destroyed long ago because of a human … - Park Jia, ML’s childhood friend. She goes to the same college. - Jia’s grandmother was always kind to ML. She’s in hospital and ML finds out from a virgin ghost that she’s due to die very soon. - She once said to ML, “Despite your differences, you can get closer with someone if you keep your hearts open and communicate with each other.” With Taker’s help, ML delayed an angel from taking her soul by a day. - After Taker comforts ML following the death of Jia’s grandmother, ML realises he has feelings for Taker. ML wants to know how Taker feels about him. They watch a horror movie and have drinks at a bar. ML gets drunk and almost kisses Taker but ML collapses then throws up on Taker. - Jaewon is visiting from abroad together with his friends on holiday. He arranges to meet ML at their hotel which is near a beach. ML brings Taker who experiences putting his feet into the ocean for the 1st time. - While waiting for Jaewon in the hotel lobby, Jaewon’s friends come down and start badmouthing ML as soon as they see him. Taker defends ML and tells them off. - That night Jaewon has dinner with ML and Taker. He apologises for his friends. - When ML was in middle school, he followed Jaewon and went overseas to study. The malicious rumours also followed ML. With no support from Jaewon, life in a strange country became too difficult for ML and he returned to South Korea. His relationship with Jaewon became even more distant. - ML’s ability is unexpectedly shared with Jaewon when ML grabs Jaewon who is shocked to see Taker in his angel form. - The small and weak spirit that was attached to Jaewon warns ML that angels were talking about taking Jaewon’s soul. ML is reassured after Taker confirms with another angel that Jaewon’s name isn’t listed in the Book of Life and Death. 1st kiss (Ch 20): - ML kisses Taker which takes him by surprise. - Taker then kisses ML back. - The small spirit has followed ML and is named Pea. - ML is surprised to find out a new student at the college has the same ability as ML. His name is Im Dojin and he swaps numbers with ML. Dojin seems to keep coming between ML and Taker. - The ghosts at the college are scared of an angel that suddenly came and got rid of some ghosts by taking their souls. - Hyunwoo, went to same high school as ML, college student. - ML goes out for dinner and drinks with Jia, Hyunwoo and Dojin. ML gets drunk and stays at Dojin’s place. - The unconscious ML is almost molested by Dojin but ML wakes up from Taker’s persistent phone calls. When Taker comes to get ML, they realise ML has a cold. - Pea says a group of ghosts from the college totally trashed ML’s place after they mistook it for Dojin’s place. ML and Taker stay at Dojin’s place while their place is getting fixed up. - ML is asked for help from a young girl ghost called Kid who lives at Dojin’s place. Most of the ghosts in the area have disappeared just like at the college. She’s looking for her friend Toto, a rabbit ghost. Kid goes to the local elementary school after hearing Toto might be there. An angel appeared to take her soul and she ran away. Pea told ML and Taker. They went to the school and ML found Kid while Taker found Toto. - ML thinks he met Kid when she was still alive. She helped carry him home on her back after he was injured at the playground as a child. He fell when he was pulled by a boy ghost and hurt his head. He still has a scar. Kid died over 10yrs ago from falling down the stairs at Dojin’s place. - ML and Taker go back to their place. ML admits that he’s jealous of Dojin and asks ML not to spend too much time with him. - Kid and Toto stay at Dojin’s place. Dojin got a toy rabbit for Kid.
