Cloudburst
oh wow after being in my want to read list for a long time and now i'm only at chapter 5, i didn't actually expect this one to be good from previous bl manhwas that i've read so far. some of the characters have already some depth to them, and they actually talk like real people instead of just aesthetic scenes with few unrealistic dialogues, which i again, didn't really expect. and i feel like some of the conversations they have about changing and looking for jobs is pretty realistic imo. idk i'm that person who likes realism in fictional works lol. also i feel sorry for the main character, not only he was outed at his old company by a jerk, his parents are also pretty mean. it's like they're taking advantage of him not being able to give them grandchildren by asking him material stuff for compensation which is really terrible tbh, it's as if they're still not accepting him imo. oh and the fact that the ceo almost drove him to suicide bc of outing him, is pretty real too. i rarely see that in these bl manhwas where everyone is just gay but weirdly none of them mentioning it oh and also the fact that they actually talk about their jobs too!! it just adds to the realism which i really like. i know some people just prefer those boring stuff aside when it comes to webtoons like this, but i actually like it, it somehow makes the characters more relatable to me. plus since most of them are in creative industry (footwear design), idk somehow it shows how the industry and companies' work life are like. not to romanticize or anything, just to see what it feels like you know but anywas i feel like i saved this long ago but it's still on chapter 22 i'd really have to wait more huh
Hitori to Hitori no 3650nichi
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ART it's totally my style plus the angst on the cover?? ahh yes sign me up!! also i love me an unrequited with regret trope lmao update i guess i'll just drop this one idk it's a bit too much for me, also there are just some stuff that just don't make sense to me which is really one of my pet peeves
Hakwonmul
ch 40 idk but it think i'm dropping this and i don't even know how i'm gonna descdibe the reason but honestly, i think after they (junoh and minoh) kissed in ch 38, i feel like everything suddenly is being rushed and them being ojt of characters. i mean not necessarily being out of character tho bc they were still like themselves, but idk i feel like the pacing is a nit different than in the beginning of the manhwa, things just suddenly happen and the characters or even the scenes don't seem to show the reason why you know also another reason why is bc everyone in the comments are saying that they're not satisfied with the ending, and i also got spoiled a bit with changkyun liking junoh (or minoh? ic can't remember) and i just don't wanna see the drama anymore after regretting finishing unrippened heart (is that what the tittle was) yesterday. and that the author just seemed like they rushed it after minoh and junoh got together. so i guess i'm not gonna waste my time then. and the reason why i started reading it was just bc everyone was saying that it was good in the beginning anyway, didn't really intend to finish it. and i do agree with them, i really like this kind of koreans' comedic way of talking (the reason why i loved hate mate so much) bc they just swear off with each other lmaoo and they obviously don't mean to hurt others in the process
Koimonogatari
i've seen this in almost every list i came across, and people are saying how underrated this webcomic is in the comments. i also saw some comments about it being realistic. and it also does seem like a sweet one, and also some *angst* and drama which i'm really excited for. and as always, i love me a high school slice of life. so probably just gonna wait until it's completed first bc it seems like it hasn't been updated for a few months now
Love or Hate(Yeongha)
i've seen this being recommended bc it's good and pretty realistic. and i also saw someone's album from this manhwa, and it looks like this one has good scenes, just like how i saw it in that thriller manhwa that i forget the title of. update i've finished reading it yeayy!! kinda regret that binged read around 70 chapters in a day lmao i just couldn't help it, i should've read only a few chapters a day. but anyways even tho i got spoiled by the comments, which actually what made me kept reading it until the end, i like its sweet and cute ending. i meaann, i guess, it should've been obvious who would end up with haesoo imo. and idk, i don't have that much to say about this one, other than the beautiful art style plus body proportions (even tho there are some parts that are not really my liking) oh i also tagged this as realistic at first, but after reading it, honestly no, apart from the lgbt struggle hence why i kept that tag. this manhwa also flows reallyy smoothly imo, you know, in terms of like the plots and like how they resolve the problems. idk how else to put that.
My Starry Sky
i can't... this just feels a bit too real.. i'm only at chapter 23 right now, after all the fights and then the flashback to when yeonduk and skylar first met.. yes i found this manhwa from a list (well actually notthe first time i came across it), and the user wrote that this manhwa deals with adhd. and i forgot about that for a sec just right until chapter 23, when yeonduk was about to shake skylar's hands. now i know what and why all the chapters i've read so far is making me feel this way. ahh it gaves me a little bit of flashback of my own childhood too which, idk i should say this triggering or not bc i can't be sure either since i'm not, i mean no one in my family has been diagnosed at all. but i do feel the realness is a bit too much for me and idk if i'm still reading this for that, or actually to see the romance happening after ahh idk update ahhhh i've finally finished reading the 1st season (ch 31.5) and the story is sooo well written. just from the author's explanation about the theme and what the general idea of the 1st and 2nd season, i can tell that they planned it out really well, and i really really appreciate it that. idk but imo not many bl authors seem to do that as well as this author, and they also tackle some real life issues that i, personally can relate to as well and i do want to say that i'm learning a lot from the author's way of creating a story ahhh i'm finally done reading this. this is such a good read with great plot and characters development. i REALLY REALLY want to give this a 5 star, if only the artstyle was a bit better
Hollow Lovers
finally found the standard for a story that at least have decent dialogues and actually make sense!! and how the story even progress realistically and as someone said on another website, it not only tackles the lgbt issue, but also careers, social life, and even communication when in a relationship. i even learn some stuff about handling a business from this manhua and again.... the only thing that's stopping me from giving a 5 star is, the art style even tho i noticed it changed just a litle bit around chapter 78,it's just not my style
Neon Sign Amber
Fools
i'm only at chapter 6 now but so far i can tell that the relationship is pretty realistic in this manhwa. it also kinda reminds me of hate mate, with the realistic dialogues too which means i'm liking it so far. and bc i doesn't go that far from reality i can definitely see this actually happening in s.korea i'm at ch 45 but fckkkkk I TJINK IM DYIMG OF CUTENESS I REALLY DIDN'T EXPECT IT TO BE THIS DISGUSTINGLY CUTE AND ROMANTIC AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH SAVE ME I PROBABLY WIL WAKE UP MY SISTER NEXT DOOR BC OF HOW MANY TIMES I WHEEZING AND KICKING MY BED FFS I HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW ch 57 sorry i just left abruptly 2-3 days ago and i kinda wanna drop this one just bc i really hate it when misunderstanding keeps happening just bc the couple don't say what's on their mind about each other, esp the uke in this one. ugh like he keeps assuming stuff instead of just asking eungi directly maybe i'll continue reading this later
Mom, I'm gay
