Chika deserved better to be honest. I don’t know why he’s made to be the villain for acting on his feelings of love, while the mangaka tries to play up Masato as if he’s a better person when in reality he’s like a selfish child who gets mad when someone touches his toys. Chika was made out to be a creep for asking to be given a chance with the person he loved, while everyone pretends that Hotaka is a victim of circumstances when it doesn’t even make sense. Hotaka’s personality especially basically does a 180 from his childhood self but in a bad way that doesn’t make sense and that makes him look like a doormat when in reality he’s kinda just an asshole too. Anyway, I usually enjoy this artist’s work, but this particular story just felt annoying.
