You can clearly tell that what this boy was searching for was not romantic love, it was familial. His biological dad was an abuser and the new one he assumed was going to be his dad turned out to be a lunatic. That guy was no good from the start, her mom's death wish being let her die lets me know that she was definitely kept as a slave, he fell in love with her idk if she did tho but even if she did it must've felt mad suffocating.
