I was trying to figure out why I enjoyed this so much, and once I got to the mess of the end chapters, I realized it was because it was the all ages version, which honestly works so much better for trying to actually enjoy a story.
That said I also just adore this couple and there's a kind of synergy with the art style that doesn't always happen. I also really appreciate how well-built the characters are: there are more nuanced portrayals to betrayal and being new to certain types of relationships that are more nuanced then I usually see, and I really enjoyed it.
