If You Do Not Obey Me
The seme is despicable! Rapes, humiliates and imprisons the uke. At least the uke is initially refreshingly aware of how bad it is and tries to stand up for himself. I think I would have liked the story a lot more if they had kept that tone and he either got away completely or if the seme had a proper redemption. The ending feels very rushed however, the seme gets better but doesn't seem to truly have changed or made up for his wrongdoings and the uke's feelings towards the seme seem to change almost over night. There are also other very loose ends, the most apparent one being what happened to my favourite character (you who've read it will know what I mean). It feels like the author had a lot more planned for this story but for some reason had to quickly wrap it up.

SO GOOD! It really stands out among omega verses in that rapes and discrimination actually has consequences. Naoto is an omega who was raped and ended up getting pregnant. We get to follow him as deals with the trauma while trying to care for a child even though society discriminates against him. Despite everything he's been through he's responsible and caring. He is such a strong individual! The alpha is also a great character! He's so sweet and caring and really loves naoto.

Dropped this. I know it's super popular but I never really got into it. First off it starts with rape and blackmail. I really hate the seme. Some say they just pretend the first volume doesn't exist but I just can't do that. But I heard that at some point Maya (the seme) would feel really bad about what had happened and apologise, so I continued reading even though it felt like it would never happen since they didn't talk about it at all. And Maya even made some comments sometimes where he remembers fondly their interactions in the beginning (=blackmail and rape) which I found very weird. Still, I hanged in there but when it actually happened (waaaaaaaaayy too late) it was so underwhelming!! At least Maya seemed to reflect a bit on it but what made me most angry and frustrated was that the uke was all like "what that happened so long ago, now let me give you a blowjob". Aaaargggh I feel so frustrated when they don't stand up for themselves. And it also feels so unrealistic! For something so traumatic it doesn't make sense for him to forget about it. And it was such a missed opportunity to actually have some deep talk, apologies and character development. I also never really found the uke all too interesting. He's a bookworm, kinda cute but also kinda boring and submissive.

The yaoi universe is full of bastard semes but this one must be one of the cruelest. What I do like however is that it's never portrayed as okay and the Kyung-soo never really forgives it. Yule also comes to realise his wrongdoings and regrets it. Arguably he could have grovelled for forgiveness more but at least he tries. Had it been one of those stories where the uke just suddenly forgives everything, the seme never changes, apologises or regrets what he's done I would have given it a one star rating for sure and trashed it to death, but because of the attempted redemption it crawled up to a 4. I think Kyung-soo said once that Yule will never be happy. Maybe I'm a vengeful bitch but that somehow soothes some of the pain felt for Kyung-soo. I'm still very sad for Kyung-soo though, I just wish he could be happy. Good points for the story are that it's definitely memorable and emotional and the art is also great.
Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu
They both did horrible things but the way the blond guy keeps doing it while still considering himself as the victim, pisses me off. He's trash.
