Bad At Names's manga / #Josei(12)

Sweet short story. Full of clichés but in a fun way, the FL may be naive but she does act her age so that's refreshing. I also like how you can actually follow their relationship develop. Ending was a bit abrupt, sadly is the norm for series such as this, could totally have been developed more such as showing Hina getting used to the spirit world, spirit lord love rivals?, them having kids together and a bit of angst dealing with the differences in lifespans between the main couple.

Simple story, refreshingly normal (ie, no over the top drama, even with the stalker arc it didn't feel too exaggerated such as a death scare or crazy life destroying revenge. Mostly just relatable problems like being treated differently at work or relationship anxiety). FL generally unlikeable imo, particularly in the beginning as she feels unreasonably uncooperative and then just decides to completely trust ML and marry him quite suddenly. Felt very plot armour-ish as the two leads had no chemistry initially and then without any real communication, they get married mostly due to societal pressure/stigma. FLs trauma related to her mother is very well written however, and loved how their relationship slowly mended in the end. ML feels way out of FL league, goes above and beyond for her multiple times and never really gets appreciated. Later relationship is kinda cute. Art and translation is okay but not very remarkable.

Sweet story full of clichés, however the relationship and character growth is noticeable and the story gets better in later chapters. FL is a badass, definitely not a typical 'white lotus'/'damsel in distress', however she's not a 'mary sue' as in shes OP for no reason. In the beginning shes a bit naive however she acknowledges her flaws and works on becoming stronger while also accepting her reality and the dangerous possibilities surrounding the ML. Love how we can see how much the ML loves the FL as he trusts her more and more and allows himself to be vulnerable around her. Later chapters show his yandere side and also how he's aware of how toxic this part of him is so he tries to keep it under control, honestly such a green flag! The relationship dynamic is amazing, I love how both leads enjoy being dominated and dominating. They're equally obsessed and kinda cringey. Ending felt a bit rushed but also satisfying. I like how neither families never fully accept the relationship, feels quite realistic and the obvious reaction. Random challenges occur, such as the ML going blind, but the spontaneity is fun. Would have been nice to see how he handles his job though now he's blind. Art style is gorgeous, translation is pretty good (bit rough in the first chapters). Story pacing is fast so side characters don't get much screentime and big events take place over a 1-3 chapters so it's not very fleshed out however the main point of the story is the relationship and the struggles they face due to the ML being a yakuza rather than the world building, so it works. The smut isn't very graphic but still good. Definitely gives off wattpad vibes lol. 4 stars because its a very fun silly read.

Actually a pretty compelling plot and provides solid reasoning for ML yandere tendencies. It is a bit annoying in the beginning when the plot flicks back and forth between the flashback and present but is necessary to draw maximum angst in reader. Towards the end the relationship does start feeling very rather than cute like in the beginning as the FL passive nature causes her to be completely taken advantage of and easily manipulated by the ML.

Good up to chapter 6, then story just gets creepy with the brother-in-law and other rivals, etc... While it is an entertaining read, the ML overall is a and genuinely comes across as creepy and low-key scary with the deception and manipulation.
