Bad At Names's manga / #Action(164)

Story with plot and some smut (definitely not the main focus) however despite that the plot doesn't make the clearest sense. The first half (before Ilay becomes an instructor) is slow and frustrating. The protagonist is gullible and repeats misunderstandings a lot, while the ML is just garbage. The 2nd ML is arguably worse with his manipulation and lies. The character development and relationship progression is good though, the pacing for that feels realistic and watching their dynamic improve subtly is very entertaining. The ML is yandere and strong af but protagonist isn't particularly weak either which is nice. Every smut scene between main couple is either dub-con at best or rape at worse, which is frustrating because if they would just communicate properly it would be easily avoided. Chapter 85 shows ML pov for first time, really shows how he views whole story as almost a romcom unlike protagonists POV which is very stressful and full of betrayal. The art and translation are great, but the pacing of some panels feel a little out of place (not enough to disturb reading flow but enough that the reader wants to know the time skip, etc...)

Typical system world with OP protagonist. There's some character development, where the mc goes from lazy to hard working badass due to trauma, but nothing too 'deep' or fleshed out. Side characters don't get much development at all, with some antagonists seeming very generic and almost frustratingly tedious. I like the power balancing in the mc's power (ie- clones are basically perfect and mc actually has to learn from them so it's not just him reaping the rewards from the clones skill grinding). Surprisingly not focused on the actual combat, more so the mc and world plot overall. Overall, I like the 'gritty' art style and the translation is pretty consistent. The actual plot is a bit simple but interesting enough to keep reading.
