ALisAnimeLover's manga / #to rev?(5)

Bright Light Sprout

Complete | Ichikawa Kei | 2000 released

The story has a lot of... not really plot holes but simply weak points. 1) Okay, so Haruto learns that Ren is having sex with some old dude. He is not entirely sure if this is consensual or not, but he has a huge hunch it isn't given Ren's situation. But instead of thinking whether or not to report this to the police or doing anything concrete, he merely contemplates about how he feels about Ren. Uh-huh. 2) So apparently, the rapist dude is not Daddy Long Legs (what a plot twist!), but rather his secretary who he trusted to give money to Ren and report to him about Ren's situation. Being Daddy Long Legs, why couldn't he simply give Ren a credit/debit card and contact him regularly? And just let the secretary/care taker report once in a while, but maintaining contact with Ren. This way, Ren could have reported to him about the situation. 3) The whole plot twist that it was just the secretary and not Daddy Long Legs - that DLL is actually kind, is most probably because the author wanted the manga's ending to be how it did (long separation until they meet again) . 4) Again, in the ending, DLL took Ren abroad with no problems. So why didn't he do that a long time ago? For the drama. The whole story just wanted to revolve around a "realistic world" where one of the characters has a very "out-of-this-world" background story. And it's not executed well.

Mitsumete, Yurarete, 15-bu

The thing that catches my attention here is the amount of train deaths... which as others have commented on as true. I find it interesting why the author chose to include them in the story though //I mean, it's totally unrelated to the story - the dude could just say that being a train conductor is boring and monotonous without mentioning the train deaths (he has that boring tone while mentioning the deaths anyway - which is quite scary because that just meant that he got too used to it :( )

Samishigariya no Love Letter

Complete | Nanoka | 2014 released

[read after watching kimi no na wa] Ch 1-2: predictable, but was sweet. the development felt inorganic though. 4/10. Ch 3-4: this was cute but... darn dense MC. 5/10 + 1 for the extra with the supportive parents. oh, and the fact that the seme stopped when the uke didn't want to have sex. Ch 5: ew. feels pedo-ish, knowing that he was 15 and the kid was 5, but he still went and fell in love and "waited" for him. 1/10

love the presentation of the kink/ala-angelina mead. love how the "kid" (how old is he tho?) accepted that part of him. along with the lines that "we all hide sth". love the grandma's line of "if me and my partner don't enjoy it together, i don't enjoy it
