I thought this might be missing a yaoi tag but I think it's correct in the lack thereof. Still, it's interesting. Not really sure where it's going yet but it reminds me of Kings' Viking, both have a teacher/master that has a big-picture plan in mind and a smart high school boy that has skills but doesn't know what to with himself.
