Thank god for this woman! She is the closest author thus far that relates to me as a gay man. Whether it's a yakuza or a demon these are still some of the healthiest relationships in the genre. why because they are fleshed out are open about their feelings toward one another and it made me happy that in this one it actually acknowledged that people can just... ya know naturally be gay, instead of the usual yaoi fanfare of I'm straight except for you. Also damn man you need grindr XD also why the hell wasn't that dick head reported he literally drugged and attempted to rape you and because you didn't report him your friend almost got put in the same situation. hopefully someone is on that other wise i have a very uneasy feeling knowing that scumbag is still wandering the streets -___-

Complete | yamamoto kotetsuko | 2012 released

Curse/Bless you yamamoto kotesuko I was simultaniiously going "daaaaaaaaw its always so nice to see supportive families when someone comes out" then only to continue to go "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO I CAN NOT AND WILL NOT APPROVE! THESE RELATIONS ARE NOT WELCOME IN A SCHOOL ENVIROMENT!" Then finding myself bawling. This author is god tier I swear So nice to see the couple from my first yaoi manga become the gay yoda to the new characters. I've always loved that flowershop. Can we make the yamamoto kotetsuko extended universe a thing holy god I wouldn't be able to handle the feels

Brothers (YAMAMOTO Kotetsuko)

Complete | YAMAMOTO Kotetsuko | 2001 released

This author is a goddess of this genre and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise, even her weaker stories (I consider this to be one of her weaker works) she manages to make the characters seem relatable and not over the top drama edgelords. She also works in comedy that flows well into the narrative so I am not scared off by the overwhelming seriousness that most yaoi has. I love how she makes me love the characters and root for their happiness though their personalities rather than having to root because they are main character alone. She's even not afraid to make some characters actually gay and admit it, rather than having to have every character be the "I'm gay but only for you" bullshit that plagues yaoi as a whole. Can't wait til she releases again for me to fall in love with even more of her extended canon of lovable characters. :)
