Trilogy's manga / #Scammer Seme(1)

Hitsuji no Kawa wo Kita Kemono

Ongoing | Kyuugou | 2000 released

Wow, where to start. Based on the comments this story rubbed people the wrong way because of how Diachi (uke) kept chasing after the seme. I disagree, I think it was part of the plot and what the author wanted from a story. I did wish for more fluff at the end so that I could be given closure apart from a simple kiss scene. I felt that the author conveyed how strongly Diachi fell in love with the seme. He has his own set of reasons for falling in love and I’m not here to judge that. I think there was such a level of maturity and awareness that Diachi had for his feelings, he just fell in love with his soulmate and he knew it. It never faltered, his soulmate was not perfect by any means, but that does not dismiss that Diachi loves him and cares for him. The seme did change in the end after prison, he tried to keep Diachi away, but Diachi pushed hard for recognition. The seme ultimately gave up on trying to keep him from getting hurt and decided “what the hell”. The seme knows he is not good enough for Diachi but he knows that he is trying harder to be the person Diachi deserves. It’s just that the author didn’t give us those scenes of closure we want. I think the author wanted us to focus on how there are damaged and hurt people in the world, some take a more hurtful path others use that pain to become someone better. Diachi became a good person, the seme could not because he didn’t have those tools. That is not the seme’s fault, he just didn’t have a reason to be good. It’s not our responsibility to fix and lick the wounds of others, but the author wants us to keep in mind that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try to understand them either.
