Dating my way up

Complete | GUURM | 2019 released

Ex comes back to fuck with shit, but is aprehended quickly and no one really actually gets too tangled up in his lies. Told seme some stuff, but it barely mattered in the story. Just gave me anxiety that it would XD Sweet tho.

Look. Story telling is amazing and so was the ending. But they literally skipped a few moments which would have been so sweet to add in, and though I usually wouldn't mention that, the reason I AM mentioning it, is because this whole damn comic is so goddamn depressing!!! It's dealing with important topics and shows many issues. Plus, the story telling was genuinely incredible, with the way everything was revealed through the past, interlinking with the future. But this vibe wasn't for me. A bit too dark, is all. Good comic. But not a nice comic. If you can take that stuff better than me (Most people will, I am just a sensitive person) then I recomend this as a read, you won't regret it. But for me, it would have been nice to get bit of a warning about the misery I had to go through while reading this. But rest assured, the ending is by no means a tragic one.

Story simple af, ending very much the romantic wholesomeness I look for. But some stuff that wasn't the romance itself went kinda overshadowed. Some stuff should have been delved into. But as I know, I can be a pussy, so I apreciate them not going into too much detail with the final issue which had been revealed in the very end, even though that was pretty important. Anyway. Lighthearted, short fun.

Great fucking romance development. Love the resolution. Not rushed at all. Relationship felt comfortable to watch and the characters were lovely, without needing to seem super unique. Something felt like it was missing because of how short it was, but the story it is is the absolute best it could possibly have been made.

So. Much. Consent. Amazing. I SWEAR THIS SHOULD BE DONE SO MUCH MORE!!! Also, definitely recomend it to be a re-read, after it's been forgotten a bit, though. Because it's very mellow for a yaoi manga. Also, don't come here for the smut. Barely anything shown and always cuts off, but it wasn't the focus-point of this anyway, so I don't mind. No huge twists in the end, no massive concerns, no over-blown misunderstandings, it's amazing. It did gt a little frustrating at FIRST!! But no pushiness that was over the top. The Seme was going after the Uke at the beginning, pinning after them and the Uke was clearly alright with it, though a little annoyingly quiet and reserved about their thoughts. And the Uke Seme thing! Neither felt like they were overpowering the other here!! At ANY point!!!! I loved this. A three, because it was O K A Y!! Look, I loved the sweetness and mellowness of this. Honestly, I am so goddamn gratefull for the opportunity to appreciate the sweetness of a relationship without overt drama T_T T_T Loved it. But there was absolutely nothing there to hook me up in drama or passion. I liked this because it wasn't intense at a time when my own mind feels overpowering, so that was just nice.

Dream Away

Complete | Lee Hana | 2019 released

Umm, feels like they didn't go deep enough with... anything. Cute! Oh, hell yeah, cute. But: No sex, When the lover's protective, it's shown in this light-hearted way, (which is fine! But was just another thing not seriously done.) the "bad guy" doesn't seem like a bad guy (again! Which is fine!! But it seemed they wanted to make him feel like an actual bad guy). Romance was cute, with when the misunderstandings were resolved, it being awkward but not that bad. Second couple... wasn't even a couple yet. Which isn't a bad idea for a webtoon tbh, not bad at all. But it was just executed in a way which seems half-assed to me now. And though I'm shitting on it this much, I'll be real, it never felt like a bad manhwa. I wouldn't care to re-read it again, but hey. If you do, no problems, /really/, it'll just feel very "mid", as Joey would say XD.

Was only a little drama (thank god), very bearable and didn't develop into a mess yet. Now. The only reason it's a THREE not a FOUR is because I had... probably a little higher expectations of this when I first started it ( ̄∇ ̄") But read to the end of this first!!!!! So, the set up... Was amaing!! I loved this manga from the second chapter!!! And that doesn't happen with me XDXD This was such a yaoi plot, while also being ALMOST believable enough, painted with such a funny mantality from the main character. The mantality from the YP probably is what made it so fun from the start, to be honest XD His friends also helped set and make this what it was. They could have shown up a little more, but I get it, this wasn't about them. Now, the setup really made me think this was gonna be a game of deciet and emotion. The confusion of figuring out what is a lie which has been pushed too far, pulling you over a cliff's edge and what is... real~~~~ XDXD Anyway, that DIDN'T happen! It WAS about the lie, sure, but they went RIGHT TO THE FUCKING!! Like... That's so disSAPOINTING!!!! I saw something that I was SURE would have been a perfect build up, but they just WENT IN for it and I was just like.... I thought this was gonna be different. Unique. I was looking for something new.... But it dissapointed me >:( BUT!!! Despite being such a quick "Bam-Bam, thank you, Ma'am", it actually caught me off guard with some of it. I didn't think he was gonna be so hinest to himself. I didn't think the drama would have resolved so easily, I didn't think the YP was gonna misinterperet the seme.... I didn't expect the seme to come right back. I didn't expect the YP to feel so goddamn real for a person. The YP made a mistake. And I apreciated that. Now, this feels like the author was either a) a little inexperienced- Which gave me a great experience!! Because I didn't expect some of these moves through the story, which most mangakas and artists would have jumped on to delve into. Or b) tried to be unique in the story, which gave a little bit of a confused plot, but not dificult to understand and quite pleasantly light. Because they didn't DELVE IN in a lot of things. Which I would have expected. But I'm fine with this. Also, the side cast. The Seme's friends are boring as fuck with no personality. Fuck off, I want my YP's gang back T_T XDXD But nah, it was bearable, that's just a nit-pick. I actually don't feel like rereading this one. It was a good one-time thing- and I meand GOOD!!! I really love that I read this one, I think it added to my experience of yaoi. It was new to me and I want this vibe in my life. But it's a different kind of yaoi. There wasn't a vibe in it which made it stand apart. It was the fact that it was unique from more... logical stand points that I can even apreciate this so much. But yeah. Not an emotionally enriching experience, just for veteran yaoi connoisseur like me XDXD The vibe was nice. Art was *chef's kiss* on point (Why are the webtoons always so good?!?!) and easy to follow story. 10/10 recomend. OH OH OH!!! Also, smut was on point. I recomend this for the smut. Fucking 10/10 in the smut area. All so cOnSeNsUAl T_T T_T T_T honestly, probably most consensual thing. It didn't toe any lines- ever... Apart from the fact that it was techinally sex with someone who you thought was someone they weren't ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ Can't do anything about that. It's literally the whole plot. Okay, Imma sign off her, bottom line was that it was -good-. That's it. Fun and pretty tame vibe-wise with elegant art and fun story that dips into the mild drama side for those who can't live without issues in their lives.

This was ALSO an awkward comedy bl webtoon, but it wasn't as awkward as the first one XD It was almost as funny, though and all the misunderstandings were awesomely resolved. I am... So touched by the end of the story T^T It has a bitter, uncomfortable feeling the way everyone grew up in the end for me, but I GUESS I'M FINE XD Now, this focused on two couples. Originally there were four friends and one of them confessed to a dude, thinking it was gonna be that girl he likes, which becomes the first, surprisingly wholesome couple, while the second veered a little away from the awkward comedy drama, into serious, childhood friend drama (it wasn't too dark and unhealthy, though. They just threw a few punches and it was good ) Anyway, nothing was too hard to get through and only a few moments were awkward!! It took me half a day to read. Good fun. Laughed out loud a few times. Nice. Oh, also I live in LV, now. I read this over at Dzērbenes māja, while I was supposed to be finishing my maths work lolol... Anyway, good times. This manga was fun, it wasn't the BRIGHTEST vibe, but PRETTY DAMN BRIGHT!! so it was good for a fun mood. And that's what I had. No regrets, was definitely a good time, definitely should read again some time... hhmmm, maybe I really should reread that other, first awkward one sometime soon. I liked even the age-gap couple, so it was cool lololloooool XD Not rn, though. It's 1am rn... ANYWAY, good read, there were no rapey vibes, even with a few stolen kisses, so it was all cool. Clean of that. 100% clean of any rape. Only showing a point at one point?? Like, the childhood friend who was into his friend, pinned him against the wall and said with a pained expression "this is what I mean", but he didn't even kiss him and pretty much cried when the dude hugged him back. It wasn't bad. It was good. Both couples were great lolol, just had firmly different story vibes. One was comedy awkward. Other was drama. But that was it. Not much to say, I guess, I feel like a lot of what I've written here was just repeated or obvious. The story felt like it was planned out, so that was good, a few surprises I wouldn't have expected to go into, which felt like they came out of nowhere. Like the first serious antagonist, despite his past history with the boi. And the girl in the second half just felt... Frustrating, though she wasn't a bad guy even and that was made clear. They fit in a few tropes which appear quite a bit, is what I'm saying. And though the story itself was just.... Normally progressed by these surprises, like any other plot device would work, but now looking back, I do see it felt a bit unnatural. They could have made the drastic shifts work, if they had stuck with the "Oh my GOD and now THIS ridiculous thing happened because of/to/around our protagonist?!" but as I said, it moved away from this comedic style, into a more "No, look, story serious" style, which is totally cool!! But perhaps it should have been done better. I have a vague idea how, but that's for another time. Anyway, no smut, though a few impassioned confessions and arguments. (Not even the kisses were hot. I didn't notice the lack-of, though, because that really wasn't the focus.) Start was more lighthearted and the ending was bittersweet, until the very last scene, which was just plain adorable, I guess XD. Reread is a good idea, maybe right after the other awkward one XD Anyway, that's it. See ya in another wierd manga~

Much prefered second pairing (They weren't a "couple", tho) because of the dramatic reasons that they ended up "together" and why one of them in the end died. It was an ending that made total sense to them and I'm very happy with how long they made that story. But they were such a more COLOURFUL pairing, that I really wish they'd have been shown maybe in a little more depth or if the story had been tweeked just a little so that they had more time. The first pairing was cliche in how they interacted with that sense of love-hate, and the seme going "Oh, but you like it when I'm rough".... BUT I gotta admit it worked in this story for them, especially since the relationship wasn't too toxic. It was just two messed up people who have centuries of baggage they have learned to live alongside. And they decided to live alongside one another. So it just happened to work out well, I liked it. But it wasn't a satisfactory relationship for me. Or even the story (not counting the second pairing) because they just showed one half of the world. Not every human is like that. Not everyone's that bad. Nobody is out to get you because of who you are. They're out to get you because they've been fucked up themselves. Period. And that was kind of shown, yes, but they were going on about humans being selfish and horrible and blah blah blah. Like- I agree. 100% true. But you missed the whole other half of the human nature, bro. Anyway. This story was lowkey just a little depressive because of the edgy and dark vibes and how they were just two fucked up people who worked out happily together, but it wasn't a bad story. Just very very cliche XD But yeah, alright. Not for rr. Maybe just the last extras You'll thank me~

Disclaimer. This story is a four because it felt right and satisfied me on a few levels, despite having two messed up leads, because they ended up in a healthy relationship. This story did not get me excited or pumped up or turn me into a fangirl at all. Okay. This story was the first one in which I was SATISFIED with the relationship of the lead coule, despite them being messed up. It felt accurate and right. It lined up with what I was believing. The relationship turned into a "salvation" for them both and I respect that, BECAUSE the Seme here was like "Him being my salvation relies on him simply being there. Nothing more, nothing less. Wether I take that savlation is my own decision." And that's probably not the exact quote, but it was PERFECT because she was acknowledging so much in that quote I just- MHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHGGGGHHGHGHHHGGGGMMMMM So Yeah, that satisfied me. Then the Uke. The way he used the rich guy was incredible XD He kinda didn't use him for everything, which I totally would have, but it's cool, I liked the boundaries this guy had even though I disagreed with them. So anyway, he also relied on the Seme in the right moments in regards to his sister, Theo being in danger. So kudos to him~ Also also, they were like, super healthy and the Uke was aware when the Seme could have been into him and that was great. The sex was cool (even though it was smut and was clearly unrealistic, the way they built up to it felt okay, so I decided to call it sex here) And though it was a shame that in the ending the dreams had been getting worse (you'll get what I mean) the dreams were supposedly dealt with and made better in the extra or something, so that's cool. BUT they could have really really done that so much better, with so much more spice and effort and careful building-up, but whatever. Anyway, this is for a rr when I need to figure out how to manke things spicy. Because this one felt not-wrong, but there was no spice.
