DistopiA ~Mikansei na Sekai~
Basically dude who gets bored with anything he tries after three hours (because he can master anything) goes into a dating sim he started to program a long time ago, which was now being programmed by his brother's company. He finds a character that won't fall in love immediately and is different, so he falls. Pretty standard stuff, actually. But I felt seen by the otome side of it *sob*
Ookami-kun wa kowakunai
A tan bottom, consent, perfect level of furry cuteness, 10/10 recomend reading again. A little bit of nice romance build-up and no issues that were difficult to sit through, so I'm very satisfied.
Outsider Communication
The vibe between the two characters felt... unique. They felt disconnected so I'm minorly anxious reading this that their future relatioship is going to be teetering on the edge at times, but they both seem like loyal lovers, so it'll probably be fine. Which is actually a good thing. Also, the really seem t oget each other by the end, so yeah, they seem like they'll be fine. As I was saying, their vibe is incredibly unique to me, I loved the way things weren't thrown in for drama and everything flowed in a way that felt natural. They weren't friendly at first and I could see that they were showly getting closer, but... It felt... Kinda illogical when they got friendly. Like though some stuff made them see each other in a different light, it was a bit too subtle to be able to tell that the dynamic had changed, but that might be my bad, so take that criticism with a fistful of salt XDXDXD The story was uneventful, relationship wasn't abusive and didn't feel toxic EVEN when the feelings seemed one sided and they were fucking. Which is RARE. Not... "cute", exactly but no drama. Kinda all around would be a bland experience, but seeing as the characters were the centre, it really felt more unique. The atmosphere between them was wonderfully unique and it felt like a treat that I'd discovered it, so that's why this is a four.
Urusai Kurai no Kokuhaku Kudasai
No smut, just a hot scene at the end. Also, HELLLLAAAA short, but when I found it, I was so goddamn happy that I did T_T I recognized this right away. Pure as fuCK romance. Again, extrEMELY short, but sweet. No real big issue. Not uncomfortable. Short misunderstanding that felt huge to the YP (fair enoughly, though) which was resolved in like... Two pages XD Best sweet thing ever. I want to see more of their life AFTER the confessions, obviously, but it's fine.
Blunder turned wonder
This was ALSO an awkward comedy bl webtoon, but it wasn't as awkward as the first one XD It was almost as funny, though and all the misunderstandings were awesomely resolved. I am... So touched by the end of the story T^T It has a bitter, uncomfortable feeling the way everyone grew up in the end for me, but I GUESS I'M FINE XD Now, this focused on two couples. Originally there were four friends and one of them confessed to a dude, thinking it was gonna be that girl he likes, which becomes the first, surprisingly wholesome couple, while the second veered a little away from the awkward comedy drama, into serious, childhood friend drama (it wasn't too dark and unhealthy, though. They just threw a few punches and it was good ) Anyway, nothing was too hard to get through and only a few moments were awkward!! It took me half a day to read. Good fun. Laughed out loud a few times. Nice. Oh, also I live in LV, now. I read this over at Dzērbenes māja, while I was supposed to be finishing my maths work lolol... Anyway, good times. This manga was fun, it wasn't the BRIGHTEST vibe, but PRETTY DAMN BRIGHT!! so it was good for a fun mood. And that's what I had. No regrets, was definitely a good time, definitely should read again some time... hhmmm, maybe I really should reread that other, first awkward one sometime soon. I liked even the age-gap couple, so it was cool lololloooool XD Not rn, though. It's 1am rn... ANYWAY, good read, there were no rapey vibes, even with a few stolen kisses, so it was all cool. Clean of that. 100% clean of any rape. Only showing a point at one point?? Like, the childhood friend who was into his friend, pinned him against the wall and said with a pained expression "this is what I mean", but he didn't even kiss him and pretty much cried when the dude hugged him back. It wasn't bad. It was good. Both couples were great lolol, just had firmly different story vibes. One was comedy awkward. Other was drama. But that was it. Not much to say, I guess, I feel like a lot of what I've written here was just repeated or obvious. The story felt like it was planned out, so that was good, a few surprises I wouldn't have expected to go into, which felt like they came out of nowhere. Like the first serious antagonist, despite his past history with the boi. And the girl in the second half just felt... Frustrating, though she wasn't a bad guy even and that was made clear. They fit in a few tropes which appear quite a bit, is what I'm saying. And though the story itself was just.... Normally progressed by these surprises, like any other plot device would work, but now looking back, I do see it felt a bit unnatural. They could have made the drastic shifts work, if they had stuck with the "Oh my GOD and now THIS ridiculous thing happened because of/to/around our protagonist?!" but as I said, it moved away from this comedic style, into a more "No, look, story serious" style, which is totally cool!! But perhaps it should have been done better. I have a vague idea how, but that's for another time. Anyway, no smut, though a few impassioned confessions and arguments. (Not even the kisses were hot. I didn't notice the lack-of, though, because that really wasn't the focus.) Start was more lighthearted and the ending was bittersweet, until the very last scene, which was just plain adorable, I guess XD. Reread is a good idea, maybe right after the other awkward one XD Anyway, that's it. See ya in another wierd manga~
Kimi To Mita Houkiboshi O Sagashite
This author is good at writing people being realistic, which is why it didn't always feel like cliche yaoi. It veered off course once in a while of how a normal yaoi would go, so it went well for me and felt like it was a good time. For the other author's work I read.
Bukiyou na Silent
Listen. Fuck this. I've already read up to Ch17 and I got this as a rec from KrisPNatz. But I didn't see it was ongoing!!!! So... Yeah. And dw, future me, I'm not that upset by it Also also, two couples so far, with the main one holding centre-stage.
Cupid ni Rakurai
THE CHARACTERS FELT SO DISTINCTIVE!! AND UNIQUE!!! And A L I V E ! ! ! !
Someone else's BL Manhwa
Okay. So they switched the trope of the AGE GAP, RIIIGHT on it's goddamn head! Also, was super unique in how the main character was more of a cause for the side characters to get together and only focused on his own romance in the second half of the plot. MC had character growth in his own arch. The romance was sweet, just took some time to get there. The drama was reeaallyyyy not my thing, but not the most difficult to sit through. Survivable.
