Ryu no Otto Boukoku no Kami
I... I love it. It was everything I've ever dreamed about- APART FROM THE LENGTH!! GIMME MOAR!!! But honestly, I liked the dragon and Captain romance, it is RIGHT up my alley XDXDXD Adore this shit. Recomend for a reread. Now. It should have had more screen-time for the world/setting. It was interesting, but more detail should have been put in. But the kind that gives PERSONALITY!! Not just anything. Wonderful use of side-cast. The soldiers were okay. Useful plot-wise (obviously. The plot was about protecting that which you love and they were pretty much the ones doing that with out YP.) The Brother didn't get MUCH time but he was there where it counts! I apreciate him and honetly they did his character in the ending well. Maybe shoulda given his death a happy ending with someone at his death bed, but it's cool. It felt alright, but I woulda wanted something more for his death. He was important for the YP too and was done well. Really good fucking side character, one of the best. The pasts weren't niche or memorable enough (and everything had this "grey" vibe, but that's trully just a personal thing.) but the introduction of the vulnerability in the dragon was nice. Then we saw it had already been there while the YP was young, which made me go "what" and I think could have been done a bit better since that was pretty jarring and felt out of characer, but it was okay. Maybe should have foreshadowed that a little more to make the romance feel more touchy. Every moment with the Brother on screen were important for characterization and honestly he ruled. Would not mind having a manga about his last few days on earth. Maybe finding himself an Onii boy, but that's just headcannon ;P The LENGTH! It left me wanting. And I am a firm believer in satisfaction of sensations. They should have made the ending feel more resolute. Should have shown MORE of their life together. Some of that bad bits and important bits, too. Not just the outline of a life, as they actually did. Again, the brother's death had potential for being used to give us something satisfying, but I do admit it could have been difficult to deliver with that and would be pretty hit or miss. Show honest love between the couple. Show... just more, dude. Everything was nice if not for the unfinished feel. It wasn't really RUSHED, per-say, just manga never really gives much of anything in deapth through plot and satisfaction. Which I should honestly be fine with by now and is simply an aspect of this medium (every medium has drawbacks!! Books have certain drawbacks, as do Movies and it just happens that this is one for Manga) but a GIRL'S GOT NEEDS!!! T_T XD Anyway, honestly would have felt more satisfied if it had been leangthened out a little bit. It was a good manga, just felt unsatisfied by the end so I had room to look in and nit-pick in bitterness XDXD Hit home. Recomend for a reread, because it's just a good time. I'm gonna go look for one OTHER manga with a similar vibe and inhuman creatures and magical bonds XD But I may have finished it and don't remember... Nevermind!! Oh, and also, no real smut. Just some brain-rape, but the lack of real smut didn't really feel like anything was lacking, so that's completely fine by me.
Otogi (kuku Hayate)
No smut... I think, at all. But AS USUAL THE STORIES WEREN'T GIVEN ENOUGH TIME TO DEVELOP SAKDLFKL DLKA But anyway.... I LOVED THIS!!! I loved the constant bittersweet, tentative passion in this. I loved the romances and they were all short and sweet. Again, recomend a reread when a little bit more forgotten. But gret for a sitting with tea. Oh! But they do show some fucking scenes. A little on the bestiality side in that last one, but who even cares at this point, it's manga, I should be growing a pair by now XDXDXD
Ichido Dake no Uta
Classic BL Theater
Best humor and bullshit I've seen in a while. Spins on old stories that are seperated into bite-sized chunks that make them to the point and ON the point. Some things are morally questionable... Others straight up vile, though that wasn't too common. But good for me, that I've read enough yaoi in my time that such things don't faze me anymore. My body is young, while my mind is old.
Go Jin and Gam-rae
Romance-wise, I feel absolutely satisfied. It's because there were several happy endings.
Dragon's First Crush
So, I liked our dragon MC more when he wasn't ready to torture everyone who hurt his man. I felt like he was special at the very start of his story. Also, he suddenly turned into this threatening protector after the 4 year period and I have no idea why. I'd like some kind of explanation, please Fell in love with the fathers at first sight XD Remember thinking "they'd make a great story about how they hooked up" and there was a story about them!! Not as... Impact full as I would have wanted. But fun to read. I liked how Blair fell in love and hpw he admitted it to himself in his flashbacks, after he confessed. So... Nice story. Cute as well, when we involve the kid. Loved all the moments the prince sent poor bby dragon (lolol, his name is completely irrelevant to me- OH! Loubi, Lou for short!) flying, for fear of them being caught in an intimate position XD Also, it felt like some nice dejavu for it to be repeated with Jude (dad 1) pushing away our boy Blaire (dad 2) lolol. Prince himself was endearing, because of how he was falling in love with MC's kindness despite being a cold dick. For the plot... Looking back, the fact that the blossoming romance between the prince and dragon in the first half of the main story was so soft saved everything for me. Because the story was pretty intense, with the evil wife and her psycho brother (which was hell of a duo, and needed WAAYYY more screen time!) fighting for fucking over the poor Prince's life. The Emperor was some whore who was slowly deteriorating and just there for the angst and emotional turmoil of the Prince, I swear- but. The second half of the plot was where it got rough for me, ngl. Lou, our sunshine, is now with constant homicidal thoughts??? The prince just gives in to everything Lou says, and if he doesn't, he will??? It's s romance turned angsty and low-key (very lowkey, mostly because of how homicidal Lou is) possessive, paired with the emperor dying, Lou's mother's carcass being finally shown (speaking of, what tf happened to it? They promised to the family to cremate it. Maybe it happened and it just wasn't a scene..).. Just... Dark, if not for the bright, happy colours and starting romance. The sidestory of the fathers was also blossoming, so that's there enough, but vears into miserable territory. So yah. Don't recommend a rr, but it was okay as a first read.
