Human Protection Company
For those who enjoy SCPs or similar supernatural stories, this one might be right up your alley. The MC is a 30-year-old who has been repeating the Civil Service Exam for four years. One day, while taking the exam, a supernatural incident occurred in the room he was in. As one of the few survivors, he was approached by staff from the Korean branch of a human protection company. They offered him a choice: erase his memory or join their company. Without much hesitation, he agreed, thinking he had no guarantee of passing the exam anyway. Using his survival skills to their fullest, he turned out to be an excellent fit for the company. He's highly calculative but humane, with an uncanny ability to adapt to his surroundings, which makes him perfect for the job. But you can’t just be humane here; just look at what happened to the new hires who let their morale and emotions get in the way. The company’s goal is to study anomalies for the long-term benefit of humanity, for example in human qualification exam, if they failed, human turn to animal and vice versa. So if animals become human-like, it’s not considered a loss for real humanity. However, if the anomalies are truly dangerous, they’ll be destroyed.
