Machibito
Step brothers finally get back together. I really didn't like dark-hair-kun being so manipulative >:
Sore Wa, Nigai, Chocolate
Devils First Love
Flirty guy finds himself falling for a slightly dense girl when he notices she's growing more beautiful than any of the flowers in his greenhouse. I feel like the author had a not-fully-ripe good-idea, but it never reached maturity so the end result was this mediocre, shallow snoozefest.
Mayonaka Wa Dame Yo
Girl with self-esteem issues learns that the mysterious guy that suddenly kissed her and her cute childhood friend whom she has loved for years, are one and the same. I found Mashiro extremely annoying, the final chapter being the worst. Nevertheless I still kind of wish that we could have seen them FINALLY doing it and hopefully she'd learn to be less insecure.
Akuma ga Hallelujah
I was rather disappointed in this volume... I'm not sure if the mangaka made this before/after the Rock Shounen stories; but the plot, character development, story progression, everything about the writing really, it was all really bad. Shallow, one-dimensional characters, the reasoning behind every decision, it just screamed "lazy writing/planning". I think the last story was the one that bugged me the least out of all of them, but just because of the end of it, nothing else. Three stories: 1-2: Girl studying in a catholic school works for the school newspaper, she gets involved with the black sheep boy from school, first by claiming he has to be the culprit behind some recent crimes, then because some stalker dude is messing with her and she can't rely on anyone but him. 3: Reminded me a lot of Tamako Market, just not cute. Fish mongler's daughter is constantly annoyed by the cake shop's son, both constantly annoying each other. One day as she was being mocked by some kids (she loves cute things but nobody thinks of her as cute), she's saved by a costumed rabbit who runs away immediately after she saw it. She discovers the rabbit is known as the Optician's Rabbit because he's always giving balloons there, she also happens to have a huge crush on the optician's son... could he be her saviour? 4: Bored, rich girl decides to sponsor the Chemistry Club to ease her boredom with their experiments. She requests them a love potion and since she's so annoyed with the club prez, she decides to test it out on him.
Nousatsu Beat De Utawasete
...just don't, it's too bad to put into words.
Bakusou!! Platinum Idol
The premise had potential, but honestly I don't think it developed well at all. Girl is "saved" from delinquents by another delinquent who took her in as her "dog". In one of the many fights the delinquent had, someone got the upper hand and hit his head badly; this made him have a sort of "mental regression" to his 7-year old self, it made him kind, thoughtful, cute, and completely devoted to the girl.
Darling I Love You (KONNO Risa)
Kainushi wa Akuma
Woman ostracised because of her bright red hair, is saved by a priest who happens to be a truly powerful demon working for the Vatican. Because she was so hated in her village she decided to accompany the priest, since after the incident only his blood can keep her alive. Out in the world, she seems to catch everyone's eyes for her bright red hair and her beautiful green jade eyes, the demon priest tells her that her eyes have special powers that can heal but also attract evil beings; more and more she's being protected by the priest, who seems to be very interested in her and ends up making her his "pet". Girl's a heavy tsundere, the plot always seems to rely heavily on the fact that people are attracted to her and the demon priest is so powerful, there is very little character development, to the point that a side character seems to grow more than the two leads. In a world where it seems most people are quite beautiful, the ones that are supposed to stand out as "the most beautiful anyone has ever seen" really look ordinary.
