This manga has all the shojo clichés you could think of, but they made it BL and omegaverse ...not that I'm complaining

I don't even know why I liked this so much but it was all so cute and sweet and calming ugh >< i love it. I also love their personalities, the author did a good job at giving the characters their own traits without making them stereotypical and, probably cus this is a shounen-ai, the way they acted had nothing to do with what position they like to take in bed and that's something I always appreciate.

The Lazy Son and His Naughty Secretary

Complete | UTSUMI Long | 2018 released

Some things are very original and well developed but some are just unnecessary and rushed, so even if I definitely liked it, I'm frustrated cause I know I could have liked it a lot more. I'd say I liked Chihiro's personality the most cause he's probably the only character ever who's simultaniously a dom top with a soft side, has a degrading kink AND sadistic tendencies, and it all works surprisingly well too! It's incredibile how all those things never clash, props to the author. What I think could have been avoided is the sexual harrassment in ch.1, but I guess everyone could see it wasn't meant to be a painful or traumatic experience for the mc, so I'm not mad at it per se. I even get how that scene served it's purpose in the plot, but at this point if you need such an overused trope to start an enemies to lovers arc it just feels like lazy writing to me. Now what I didn't like was the thing with the kidnapper. It's not too forced to put a traumatic experience like that in the mc's past but it doesn't make sense for a kidnapper to be that mean to a kid for no reason. And it makes even less sense for the same guy to go out of prison and kidnap him a second time for what again? They should have at least given a believeable explanation as to why he's so pissy, something like he's somehow related to their family and is jealous of the mc or sum, but to just leave it at that is pretty half-assed. The art is super pretty. It's a 7/10 and I'm being generous for the masochistic/sadist seme, would have been a solid 9 with more effort in the developement of their relationship and a backstory for the kidnapper

Nee, Onnanoko ni Shite Ageru

Complete | Mamita | 2000 released

The art is super good but something's off with the plot, and I feel like that's because the author put much more effort in the sex scenes rather than in the developement of their relationship. From beginning to end it felt like the seme only liked the uke because of his fetish. He didn't like him before knowing about his crossdressing hobby and he says that he fell for him when he saw him at the bar. His confession literally stated "I like men. I like older men who crossdress. I like you", and the fact he never has sex with the uke without the dresses quite clearly proves that he's not as interested in the uke's normal self. The extra chapters was supposed to be cute but it was sooo sad to hear the seme complain about not being able to see the uke the day before, not because he wanted to spend time together, but because he couldn't see him while he was crossdressing, and he even says that for him being with the crossdressing uke is totally different from being with his normal version, and they're like "two different people". He also treats the uke like shit, always criticizing him and never once saying or doing something nice for him other than sex (and let's not forget the actual coercion and blackmailing he did at the beginning while giving zero fucks for the uke's feelings). Meanwhile the uke actually fell for him as a person and numerous times throughout the story shows how caring and sweet he is towards the seme. Fuck I swear in the extra chapter when the seme was talking about all the outfits the uke wore for him I was ready to forgive him everything because I thought he was gonna end it with something like "...but whatever he wears, it's him that I love" or something that would actually show how he's attracted to him as an individual and not just as an object onto which project his fantasies, but guess what? He actually wanted to say that of all the outfits, the maid dress was his favorite! I was like :|
