genuinely one of the best stories i've read! it doesn't feel like a childish fairtytale fetishization like so many BL novels do it's mature and real. everything doesn't just magically fall into place for the MC. there's a gentle kind of melancholy, but it's not gratuitous suffering. the conflict between the MC's isn't just frivolous miscommunication, but understandable and realistic insecurities. the ending is sweet, and i think it was the right fit for the story. i still don't completely understand what mqueen and ed see in each other, but at the same time i think they're good for each other and that it's a healthy relationship. i think the only complaint i have is they sorta brushed over how chang raped ed, or how mcqueen never listens when ed tells him to slow down. it made me uncomfortable how it was never addressed and glossed over like it was a normal and okay thing to do. okay serious stuff aside. why did they name him after the car from cars

ending felt incredibly disappointing

this was a fun read but the wolf and fox stuff didn't have any unique impact on the story. it feels like the author just liked the concept on the surface and took no efforts to figure out the logistics of it or flesh out the world building with it. 5 stars tho bc the seme is fuckin top notch

everything was paced so weirdly. like he goes from being a macho homophobe to happily being in a relationship with a guy and acting very submissive in like, 5 minutes. i'm always eager to suspend my disbeleif but this was just too unrealistic. also why would they go tell that tyler guy that they were going to prosecute him? why give him the heads up? that seems so stupid and unnecessary

i didn't expect to like this as much as i did. definitely not a fairy-tale romance, but the realism was actually refreshing instead of opressive
