the one he wanted to protect turned out to be stronger than him physically & theyre both mentally fucked. hope it lasts though!

She dies in CH1 but instead of "dying" she disappears without a trace only to reappear--with full memories & no altered appearance--into a retired emperor's palace. The share a night together in his bed & end up engaged by ch7 where the book just ENDS with many threads left unfinished.

what the hell happens to the "bad" bad guy?

you barely get to see the MC's face because he's a "mob" character. The ending is unsatisfying as the MC never properly responds to his childhood friend's confession but just ignores it completely as if it never happened & that's just how the story ends.

it's weird & the ending is indefinite. she doesn't get the predicted "bad end" but what hapens instead isn't really defined. she's just "not dead" and might become the saintess instead of the heroine. the bad guy isn't properly identified OR dealt with any kind of certainty (they never tried to find out "who" or "why"). weirdly open ending
