Blue Phobia
Completed. Blue Phobia is as beautiful as it is at times, eerie and creepy. I do wish there were more coloured pages because - if it would be anything like the cover, I bet those pages would be stunning. The story is interesting, shrouded in mystery. I found the one shot at the start more interesting but the main story itself has its own charm too.
Juujika no Rokunin
All the ways horrifying, and all the ways dark. This manga sends chills down my spine and makes me nervous to keep reading. It's so fucked up in so many ways but it tackles quite an interesting concept. The sinister tone of the story is encourage by the art style and sfx as you would expect. Too bad the romance breaks the tone. Shitty ML x FL, shitty romance, shitty timing. Went from 5 stars to 2. This mangaka is too obsessed with cramming in fanservice which offsets all the pacing, overall mood of the story and makes all the brilliance of this: moot.
The Planet Walks Alone
Completed. Mysterious, thrilling and 5-star worthy-read! An introspective exploration on human duality! From the amazing art and panels that feel alive to the storyline which is shrouded in mystery - it leaves me craving for more, I'm curious but also in awe at every aspect of this manhwa. How it ends may seem dissapointing, but I feel as though it fits perfectly with this series in all honesty. Can't wait to see more from this author!
Koko wa Ima kara Rinri desu.
Stopped reading, 2B picked up again. Not bad. A thought-provoking manga. There's a lot of emotions attached to each student, you see their lives and you understand and relate to them. It's good and refreshing to see a teacher and adult (although fictional) be so understanding and non-judgemental to younger people. Certainly, this manga is rather niche, the characters are unusual, not unbelievable per se, but they're quite unique. There were some moments and characters that made me raise my brow and some moments that didn't sit quite right with me but overall? It's fine. The art style isn't extremely out-of-the-ordinary, but the composition and execution is wonderful. Would definitely reccomend.
Machida-kun no Sekai
Holy shit this is soooo fucking cute. Stupidly cute couple dynamic and stupidly cute storyline. I love myself a sweet tender romance and babe? THIS IS IT! The drama was present but not frustrating and highly realistic. Damn, I fell in love with these characters! It's a really refreshing read after reading a lot of very serious mangas. Ugh, CUTE. SO fucking cute.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
Novel to manhwa. Vague knowledge of major spoilers. Strong action scenes. Slight cliché but done fairly well. Artstyle not particularly distinctive but aesthetics are very enjoyable, dynamic and well coloured. VERY strong story. Good characterisation.
Houseki no Kuni
Ongoing, U2D. Heartbreaking, devastating and emotional. The art is complex and unconventional but I adore it. It took a while for me to warm up to but it didn't put me off reading it. Lots of symbolism and beautiful story-telling. Prepare the tissues because the emotional turmoil just grows and grows the more you read. Definitely not a light-hearted time, but still a comfort read for me, nonetheless.
Girl That Can See It (Pixiv)
Ongoing, U2D. Really enjoyed reading, chilling and enthralling. Although, some of the fanservice is a bit off-putting.
Fermat no Ryouri
Ongoing, U2D (discontinued?) So far, I find this far more compelling and. well-done in comparison to Ao Ashi. The characters are far more charasmastic and endearing and the story is well-researched and fairly well-executed. This mangaka has the tendency to cram a lot if information in at once, so far, this has been done better than their other work. Was excited to read more, but I think it has sadly been discontinued? Not too sure
Blue Period.
