Villain initialization
It’s a cool set up—if MHA met reincarnation trope with a villain for MCA. MC has a personality and it’s pretty funny, characters are fleshed out, and the art is nice. It has the Chinese sexist vibes all over it with some annoying FL characters, every female character is in tight clothes, and the shots are all aimed toward the skirt and chest. It’s gross to see that so that’s why 2 stars off.
Otherworldly Sword King's Survival Records
Dropped from 4/5 to 3/5. Pros: Interesting premise about a guy who is a “glitch” in a world where you kill the natives and level up, interesting characters, story had a good idea for the plot, world building was good Cons: Shit execution. MC is overpowered but the comedy and plot cover what he is actually like. We have no idea what he wants(does he want to live in this world or go back?), the blue Wyvern had the most boring character arc where everyone is way more interesting than her and on top of that they are trying to make her a love interest. The plot forgets itself and drives on misunderstandings. Like MC has been fighting this whole time and only around like chapter 100+ do we hear him say he wants to go home when he literally doesn’t remember anything about his home. All the interesting characters keep getting killed off while the boring ones like the blue wyvern remain. Her character could’ve worked as like a child like character instead of a love interest because her sole basis was that she was naïve. Even the unnie whose face she stole and Leslie is more interesting than her. This is a lot of wasted potential specially given how good the art is. This could’ve been like the next big shounen— you have the friendship, action, comedy, and the world building for it. Too bad the author can’t write well.
Kill Blue
Adult spy MC gets bitten by a wasp and turns into a kid. Now he enjoys his middle school life.
Doctor’s Rebirth
This was interesting at first but then gets boring. MC has no personality other than “I am a doctor” and “I want to save master”—like at least explain your reasons. They imply MC has a savior complex but they don’t elaborate on it. MC doesn’t fail or realize he can’t save everyone. Instead he gets praised for being a modern doctor.
Majo no Inu
This author always writes strong stories with badass characters, not the usual weak ukes. I love this pairing more than the cat witch and her familiar bc this pairing has TENSION. Their personalities are so opposite, they are magnetic. The fact that he’s the dog witch which implies his familiar is going to be the most loyal despite how both of their personalities are nonchalant??? It’s everything.
